Enchanting or smithing clothes

Post » Fri Jun 08, 2012 9:27 pm

Hey!
A question here, can you find clothes or outfits there are good to use when you are smithing or enchanting?.
I am on 100 in smithing and 63 in enchanting, i am thinking off enchanting a daedric weapon.
When i do this now, the damage on the weapon are going down when enchanting.

Smithing should be fairly easy to find. I think there are enchant items but I haven't found any

The damage of the weapon will not go down when you enchant it, it will stay the same. Do you mean clothes that boost smithing, that have the 'fortify smithing' enchantment on them?

There's plenty of smithing boosting things, both armor and potions.

The damage power to a weapon should not go down when you enchant it. If this is happening to you, then you it sounds likely that you unequipped a ring, necklace etc that boosts the specific weapon.

For example you have an enchanted ring (equipped) that does 25% extra damage with 2H weapons. You smith a deadric axe and see the damage displayed. You next try to enchant said axe but somehow you have uneqipped the ring that does the extra damage to 2H and so the damage displayed will be lower.

Enchanting does now lower damage.

Merchants often sell gauntlets and amulets with a fortify smithing enchantment. I don't think I've ever seen a smithing ring for sale but there is one you can get as a quest reward.

There are no fortify enchantment items as far as I am aware. To boost that ability the only option is potions. Alchemists often sell them and although you can brew them up yourself the bought ones are usually more effective.
They probaby did not include fortify enchantment items because it would create a feedback loop. You would then have been able to create higher and higher fortify enchant items by going enchant, wear item, enchant, wear new item, enchant, wear new new item, etc. forever.

I put a smithing enchantment on a pair of regular gloves (avaiable at radiant Raiment or rarely as wardrobe loot). They only weigh 0.5, so I can easily carry them around and actually use gauntlets with a more combat-oriented enchant.
