Part of a quest. In particular, Arcade Gannon's companion quest. Anything else would be giving the game away.

I'm wondering if there's any Fallout 3 style armor. GECK says it exists in the game files, but I'm curious if it's actually placed anywhere in the world or not. Not because I particularly want that crappy suit, but because I'm curious. :P

Yeah there are some NCR troops at hoover dam wearing power armor with a bear painted on the front. NCR heavy troopers or something.

Ah, yeah. I should have been more specific. I was referring to Enclave armor in particular. I already got T-45d (ie Fallout 3 style Brotherhood PA) from the Brotherhood after joining them, and the quartermaster sells it now that I'm a member.

Basically, I'm curious if the ugly FO3 style Enclave armor can be found anywhere in the game, or if it's only in the game files. Its stats are pretty nice - 34 DT with just the suit.

Remnant and Tesla armor are earned through Arcade's quest, though I believeyou cxan only get one or the other, depending on your choices.

Thought the choice was Telsa...or enclave support.
And the remenant armor was looted off the disagreeable enclave vet.

Using the Base IDs from Fallout 3, you can spawn a suit of Fallout 3 Enclave Power Armor. Not sure how else you'd do it, though.

Choice one is Tesla armor.
Choice two is Enclave support, which leads to arguing, which leads to you gaining Remnant armor.

I suppose you could take the Tesla and kill a Remnant for his armor.

Remnants Armor is actually better and it comes with the support, but it involves more effort and skill to pull off, so if you're a low level or first time player, Tesla armor is not a bad choice.

I'm just curious, but I think you're talking about the Enclave Hellfire Armor? That is basically the Brotherhood T51b, but that's faction armor. I think that the T45 is not - doesn't say so on it, but I'm not sure. I got shot up in Las Vegas by the NCR - because I had Veronica wearing the T51b (I don't have the Power Armor perk).

But yeah, T51b has the +1 Str / 25% rad res versus the T45's +2 Str / -2 Agi / 15% rad res. I don't know if the 'regular' +1 Str / -1 Agi / ??% rad res Enclave armor is in New Vegas, or maybe that's what the other suits that are talked about here are?

Also, is Tesla Armor considered faction?

Nope. I found it a bit strange that I could run around in BoS and NCR territory without them reacting.

Once you have enough friendship points with him just continue the story and he will talk to you when the ending is approaching.

You get friendship points by doing actions that Arcade agrees with. You only need 3 points I think so you most likely already have enough.

The game will warn you when the final battle is coming and if Arcade hasn't spoken to you by then you are doing something wrong.

I have both, and without killing anyone. When I passed the speech check with Orion, the pilot gave me her Remnant armor saying she wouldn't be needing it. Then I convinced Arcade to go back to Freeside, he mentioned needing to go work on something first, then showed up later and gave me the Tesla armor. Unfortunately, Arcade showed up to give me the armor when I was at the Quarry near Sloan, and the armor put me over my weight limit. I got ruined by Deathclaws after that....

there is a crashed vertabird, with 2 enclave full armor and the new telsa cannon, and it is the ticket. it is kinda on the other side of the town that has been irrated by the legion, stay up in the hills, it is just pass the nucular test site that has the stand with chairs with sunglasses on each chaIR. but when you get it get the hell out of dodge, or you will regret it, the robots will swarm you

I recently found a suit of Enclave APA1 (ie Remnants Armor) sans helmet in the deathclaw promontory. A little north of Cottonwood on the opposite side of the river, there's a path up the mountain. Follow that up and head right. You'll encounter about a dozen deathclaws, and towards the end, you'll find two prospectors. One with a full set of T-51b armor, and one with the APA1 suit minus helmet. You'll also find a multiplas rifle and a tribeam in the area.

Where are those guys then? I found the crashed verti and the unique tesla cannon, but I certainly didn't see any power-armored troops to loot. :(

The Remnants Bunker is accessed at the end of Arcade Gannon's quest line, after recruiting all the former Enclave members. To third the vertibird, there was no armor when I found it, just the Tesla Cannon and some burned skeletons.

To summarize and spoilerize all of the Power Armor and their locations:
Spoiler

Brotherhood T-51b Power Armor: Found on the lost BoS Patrols and is what members of the BoS normally wear. Counts as a disguise.

Brotherhood T-45d Power Armor: Found on a Paladin in Dead Wind Cave. This is unique as far as I have found, but looks identical to normal T-45d. Counts as a disguise.

T-45d Power Armor: You're given a suit of this at the end of the BoS Quest Line. It can also be found in the BoS Bunker as well as on Vendors.

T-51b Power Armor: This is the rusty green variety that you got as a potential reward for Fallout 3's 'You gotta shoot em in the head' quest. You can find a full suit at the Deathclaw Promotory or for sale at the BoS Vendor.

Remnant Power Armor: You can find the armor at the Deathclaw Promotory and the helmet in Silver Peak Mine (behind a locked gate).
You also get a free suit after finishing Arcade Gannon's quest line.

Gannon Family Tesla Armor: This armor becomes available after finishing Arcade's quest line. You have a choice as to whether to keep it yourself or let him wear it during the game's final quests.

NCR Salvaged Power Armor: This can only be looted or stolen from NCR Heavy Troopers. They are initially only found at Hoover Dam but as you progress through the main questlines they can be found at most NCR controlled outposts. This isn't technically power armor as it doesn't require the training perk.

this game is buggy, i went to the deathclaw promontory and the first time i was there i didn't see any weapons or guys in power armor, so i reloaded and when i reloaded there was a bunch more deathclaws and the dead guys in power armor were there, so its possible that stuff isn't showing up properly, because i didn't see the enclave armor at the crashed vertibird either
