End Game Content

I have yet to get a beta invite, so all I know of ESO is based on rumors and what little information we have thus far. I do recall seeing a dev state there wouldn't be raids in ESO. I hope this was a misunderstanding, as a long time MMO player and ES fan I would LOVE the chance to go on some raids against Daedric princes, deities, necromancers/lichs and so forth with my guild.

I know we will have dungeons for 5 man groups, but what about larger group content such as raids? A lot of recent MMO's have tried to do away with these and failed. It is something that has always been a part of MMO's and always should be. Same goes for PvP. Will they have group ques or guild ques or random que systems? Premades should be allowed in my opinion. Just some of the questions on my mind.

I suggest you do some browsing around in the "compilation" style threads here, as most are littered with useless arguing. But to answer your question directly there will not be "raids", but there will be endgame (largescale and smallscale) PvE content. They don't want to call them raids though, they use the term Adventure Zone to describe the largescale PvE areas.

Groups are based on multiples of 4 too not 5, I think they didn't want to say "raids" mostly because instead of going into a special zone to search and destroy one large boss, it sounds like it will be large open zones with lots of groups of mobs and challenges ranging from ones designed for small groups (4) all the way up to large groups (24) and everything in between. Each time you complete one factions area you get the option to move to the next factions area (without being able to see anyone from that faction) and the difficulty is said to increase again...

My info might be have some errors in it but i think i am pretty close!

Am I an idiot for never having thought of raids as "end game content"? It's just another step in progression to me, once you get your gear from that raid it becomes basically dead to you.

Robust, meaningful and persistent PvP environments are what I would consider endgame, meaning, what is always engaging and interesting once you completely maxed out your character. In that sense, ESO has the best end game I have seen in a long time.

Nevertheless, as for PvE, we know about the following options

- 4-man heroic dungeons (instanced)

- public dungeons in PvP zone

- enemy territory quest content (50+ and 50++ scaled)

- many vs many encounters in adventure zones

As Firor and Sage said repeatedly, fighting huge 20 meter tall bosses isn't really "Elder Scrolls", so we shouldn't expect that. Certainly not fighting Daedric Princes or Aedra.

Well, theres gear-grind, but it comes with a twist, like random stats on items. Crafters and drop items are equally good, you can do dungeons or AZ or craft one yourself or ask your friend to make one for yourself, thats if you got the maths, or buy from AH (unconfirmed, but we're gonna get it..) Then theres Cyrodil. Alliance zones (theres 2/3 of the world for you still to see...) then theres Adventure Zones. Public Quests called Dark Anchors. NPC guild grind. OOR you can choose another weapon or armor and progress them further, basically each armor and weapon has own progression, you can max them all, thats gonna take forever let me say you that. ROBUST endgame I'd say.

They're actually working on endgame PVE content right now.. http://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en/news/post/2013/05/29/eso-coverage-from-e3-preview-events

I'd love to see massive-gold-sink too, its kinda what people have wanted a while now, at least community have spoken alot about it. So basically unlimited gold sink. It mean people would sell items to put more money into gold-sink, yeah, think about how they spend their money. Also I think it helps economy, all money doesnt stay in the game. I'd actually put a cap on peopls money, its whether use them or put them into gold-sink.

Adventure zones are ESO version of raids, sound very promising, as for pvp you have the whole province of cyrodiil, why would you want a premade queue system for this?

There are Raids in ESO they are just called Adventure Zones.

These Adventure Zones will not focus on 24 vs 1 more like 24 vs 100.
