basically i use the dragonrend shout the dragon, and he falls down and then i hit him repeatly. and i tried using the elder scroll (if its even needed). i continue to use dragonrend and hitting him but no luck, not even a millimetre of his health goes down, sorry but i was enjoying the game, minus the short story that was letting the game down and topped off by this bad broken ending.

try to do what ALL THE NPCS TELL YOU TO DO.

Lure him into the big hall when hes down. Remember, you just agreed with everyone to CATCH him, not to kill him. Also, this is not the ending.

Alright.....to defeat Alduin follow these steps to the letter.

Step 1.)
A.) Use Dragonrend Shout and wait for him to land.
B.) Attack him with anything, doesn't really matter what.
C.) Continue to use Dragonrend Shout when your Shout Cooldown is up.
Step 2.)
A.) Constantly move from the Left to the Right in about 5 second intervals to avoid Fire and Brimstone he summons.
B.) Copy step 1.

That's all. Also if you turned your difficulty to the max, he is near Impossible, and it is made to be hard; he doesn't get better loot for the difficulty, so the only reason anyone would do it, is for magic gloating rights which are non-existent since there is no Achievement/Entitlement to gain.

the gameworked after i went to dashboard and reset turned out i was doing everything correctly so if others are having problems and thanks to those who helped just try reseting/dashboarding your console
