Enemies confused by adding weapons to them

Previously I was having problems trying to explosion script. Well I switched to the fose ref walk method to add weapons to enemies via script and nothing more than that. But the big problem is... the enemies that get the weapons are acting like they are confused: No shooting and only going for cover and in worse cases just freezing in place. Sometimes they actually move and shoot the weapons I give them, but it's 8 to 1 that they will bug out. What is going on?
