Engine for Skyrim?

Most of us have been pretty disappointed with the most recent iteration of Bethesda's take on the Gamebryo engine. With http://kotaku.com/5712806/oh-good-elder-scrolls-v-wont-use-that-broken-old-engine?skyline=true&s=i we can see that they are building an "all new" engine. Now, I recall Bethesda boasting about this before Oblivion's release, and we all know how that turned out- and was drug on for two more games. As far as I'm concerned, anything would be an improvement over Oblivion/Fallout's Gamebryo engine.

What do you think? Will it be a new variant of Gamebryo, or an entirely new engine? How do you think it will improve, what kind of changes are important to you?

I'll put out a few obvious things that I want: Support for more than 2GB of RAM, less crashing, things like that.

Imo gamebryo was not bad when it came out.
