Entertainment Rituals

Post » Wed Aug 29, 2012 9:49 pm

What are some "rituals" that you do while you're participating in some kind of entertainment?

As in, at the release of your favorite upcoming movie, do you dress up as a character, pre-order tickets, get a special kind of candy? Or when you're playing video games, do you have a special chair or something?

Not really "rituals", but weird things you do while you're being entertained.

For example, I was watching the latest episode of Pretty Little Liars today "The BetrAyal" and
Spoiler
I was spazzing out when Nate was attacking Emily in the Lighthouse.

I don't know, I just really get pumped up whenever I see a man attacking a woman or a woman being attacked by someone. In that situation I just really want to see the woman kick some ass and during the episode I was like chanting
Spoiler
"come on Emily, KILL HIM. Stab him, come on!" Just because I was so enraged at the fact that this beautiful woman was fighting a sick killer.
So, that's one weird thing I do during any movie or video game or something. I root for the woman to kill some [censored]es.

________

What do you do?

Well when I'm going to watch a football game on Sundays, I make sure there is enough cold beer in the fridge and plenty of snacks.

I usually drink. And if in my own house I'm either naked or in my underwear.

Depends, movies I just go and watch. Big TV events like the Superbowl I make sure I have some good friends and good food around, I do make some godly jalapeno nachos.

And sorry, but isn't Pretty Little Liars a... ummm... girls show?

Because it might be aimed at vapid teenaged girls that just changed the channel from Disney.... makes me fear the day my nephew starts watching it -_-

The only thing I can think of is that when I install a new game, I reboot afresh, sniff the packaging as I remove the disk, and typically watch the entire progress bar all the way through...
...But I will wait until I'm all alone, usually late at night, until I launch it for the first time...so I can focus and ABSORB THE EXPERIENCE.....

I turn down the lights, put on my headphones and watch the intro all the way through !

Then I process to wreck mayhem and havoc into the wee hours of the morning.

It's never the same after the first launch, and I want to get the most out of it.
