EPIC - just when I think I've seen so much (70+ hours in) I

Post » Sat Dec 10, 2011 6:24 pm

I just talked with Molag Bal. Epic.

Did the Forbidden Legends quest - epic.

Learned of another quest from a book that took me across Skyrim - epic.

Entered so many places thinking they were just minor places to explore only to find an entire quest - epic.

Dealt with Meridia - epic - and almost changed my character's path completely

There have been dozens and dozens of moments like these.... far more than any Elder Scroll game so far imho.

I am loving Skyrim in a way that no other ES game has drawn me in.... I literally think about it all the time and cannot wait to play each day.

And I still have sooo much to do. Civil War/Most of main quest/Dark Brotherhood/Thieves Guild/All the Daedra but 3/Visit 4 more holds.....

You have made an epic game and I hope you are all resting, congratulating each other, and realizing you have brought wonder, joy and amazement to many!

definitely alot of epicness in this game... i came across the molag bal quest completely by accident... i was NOT expecting that.

i had to pause for a short while to express my excitement before i could continue on with it, was definitely one of my favorite moments in the game.

the daedra princes' voices are done so much better in this game, and the quests are definitely alot more fun.

I R MENTALLY DEFICIENT!!!! I WANT BALANCE OVER CONTENT....... I hate those people. I love all the content in Skyrim.

@Sky_Rune: I did that quest, and I didn't realize it was Sanguine's quest until the very end, when I got the reward!

I'm so sick of people running the word "epic" into the ground.

EPIC, JUST EPIC is how I would describe the dungeon that just took me about 5 hours to get through. :P It was amazing and the whole place is huge and there's even more to do there. The place is larger than some of the towns we've seen. I died a lot and at the end for the big battle it was just me, no companion, but I had my Flame Atronach and the Sanguine Rose so I wasn't completely alone. Mission accomplished and I'm on my way back to the quest giver with a very important staff.

I've really been having a great time and I'm enjoying the stories. There's a lot of humor in the game too...sometimes it's very subtle but it's there. I'm only Level 26 but I'm learning a lot and really learned on that dungeon tonight. I think that's enough for tonight so keep your eyes on the skies. :)

Yes, spoiler-free please. This forum is being ruined with all the spoilers. There's a spoiler forum with lots of great people to talk about game details. Thanks!

Vampire Mistwalker encounter near Whiterun (across the bridge on the road)... my level was early teens, Master difficulty. She had some low levels with her, too; fortunately those showed up first and were easily dealt with. However, when she showed up afterwards, she blasted through the Stendarr squad that was coming up the road like they weren't even there. Well, actually, one of them wasn't really there afterwards because she turned her. :( Lydia and I started fighting because she was blocking our way back, but her health didn't even get dented. I left Lydia because I knew she'd be okay and lured the Mistwalker waaaayy up the road to a camp of Stormcloaks (i.e., I ran :) ). This Mistwalker eliminated half the camp singlehandedly (that's four Stormcloaks and two horses, all by herself... oh, plus me and Lydia trying to help, of course).

That was epic, but painful!

Not sure if those things are really epic or not, but I definitely think you should post this in the spoilers forum.
Or at least spoilify some of your contents.

I'm one of the 'balance' people. And I still love to explore in Skyrim and I think OP is 100% right. Things aren't black&white, just because you enjoy a game doesn't mean you have to be blind to its flaws. But enough offtopic.

Those dungeon quests are the best actually. If you ever tried to fight Kvenel face to face as a mage with a summoned sword you know what i mean :D

You havn't seen EPIC until you've seen a dragon swoop down and a mammoth jump on it's back, and then the dragon flies around for about 10s with a mammoth on top of it before the mammoth falls off and plummets to it's death.

I saw that earlier today, just when I though I'd seen it all.

I saw a saber tooth tiger chase a mountain goat into a river, which got caught in the current and fell over a waterfall. I looked down and saw it's body still being carried down the current. I could not believe my eyes.

One of my favourite moments so far, only 11 hours in. But finding that Orc that wants to die with honour in the wilderness and then slaying him. Very random, but also VERY cool...

There is a quest called A Night To Remember. I will not go into details, but you'll know it when you find it. I stumbled across it by accident right before I had to go to bed. I'm dying to get to my next day off from work so I can see where it goes. It started as something so innocuous and took me to a new location that I haven't been to yet. And then stuff that was unrelated happened there.

And all because I decided to take a stroll through a marketplace and talk to people.

Epic.
