Equipping the same weapons from favorites menu?

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 9:52 am

Is it possible to do this, every time I try I can equip one or the other. Then they both end up combining together. I always have to go back through the tab menu to equip them again. Is there a mod that fixes this?

If you have two of the exact same items, you can not Favorite one or the other of them as the game does not know which one to use.

If you want to use two of the same weapon and have them favorited, you can enchant them with a slightly different effect. If you don't want to have Enchanting skew your balance, then pick a spell or magnitude that will have no impact, or, don't recharge the weapon.

If you hotkey them for Dual Wielding, they will not work. Even if you rename them through enchanting. The DW hotkey has been a broken function from the release.

Enchanting used to create a unique form id, so the game thought it was a different item, even if it was named the same, was the same base weapon, and the same enchantment. I wonder how the game keeps enchanted items separate otherwise.

I'll have to try that, will I be constantly getting the message that my weapon is out of charges?

You cannot assign a hot key to a weapon set. Nor can you assign a hotkey to a specific hand. Thus, dual wield with hotkeys is impossible.

Hmmm. I guess it still creates a new ID. I never though to look at that. Then again they would just stack in your inventory and be used like other stuff.

That is one of the things I have had a problem with from the start. I can't believe a mod hasn't addressed this yet, either.

I commented on this earlier, but I found that the Iron dagger works fine, for this. It changes out the left hand and magic fine. So that tells me there is something in there to make it happen.

Really? I'm going to have to check that out. Like you say, it suggests that the correct behavior should be possible but is broken somehow.

Yes, those messages do appear. However, I can easily ignore them, seeing as I wander around with chronically uncharged enchanted weapons.......

It seems that there was another stock weapon that worked as well, I can't recall (imagine that) what it was.
