Escape Rope to get out of dungeons quickly, idea?

Post » Sat Jul 14, 2012 3:14 pm

Anyone who played Pokemon as a kid, now's how useful escape rope's are if you get lost in a cave.

And everyone has got stuck in a dungeon once or more in Skyrim, there's no denying it :). So I thought it would be a nice new touch if in the next DLC escape ropes where added. It's just small idea that would be nice. Share your thought's on the topic, and thanks. :)

there's no denying it
I beg to differ, I don't think I've ever gotten lost or stuck in a dungeon in Skyrim. You have two failsafes, a map and a previous savegame.

Also, isn't getting lost in a cave something a character might actually do, and therefore an experience? I don't know what kind of dungeons you were inside of in pokemon but the dungeons I've been in have mostly had some sort of solid unpenetrable rocks overhead in Skyrim.

You have a point about it being made more easy, but once or more you must have been stuck somewhere and just want to get out.

And that's what savegames are for! :)
If you honestly are stuck you can just load up a game where you aren't stuck.

You ever got really far into a dungeon and got into a glitch where your stuck and don't wan't to go back by reloading a save.

But what is an escape rope?

It's an item in Pokemon games that teleports you out of dungeons if you get lost/don't want to backtrack to the exit after capturing a legendary Pokemon. The move "Dig" could also be used.

OMG WILL SOMEBODY PLEASE EXPLAIN WHAT AN ESCAPE ROPE IS?

EDIT: Oh Christ. I shouldn't have asked. Now people need a way to teleport out of dungeons because walking out is too much of a pain?

I'm also fairly certain that 90% of Skyrim's dungeons are circular in shape, as it's always "OMG WHAT A SURPRISE, A SECRET EXIT THAT TAKES ME BACK TO THE BEGINNING!11!! Never saw that coming!"

In the early games, it teleported you back to the nearest Pokemon center (equivalent to a house or bed). In the later ones, it simply deposited you at the entrance to the dungeon/cave/whatever.

by the nine divines there is a lazzypath in the loose! Guards! Guards!! o_O q-

/ but serious, the dungeons in Skyrim are already soo dumbed down, you just walk straight foward, turn, open a door, kill monsters, repeat everything ultil you reach the end and find a barred door/secret passage just behind the chest of random generic loot that guess what?! takes you to the beggining of the dungeon ?? (the first time in bleakfalls barrow i was like: wow that is an amazing touch to this place *-*, but after found that everyother dungeon/barrow in Skyrim was just like this i was like when entering a cave: ohh Gods noo! another one! and i have already found the wayback that i just can't climb in because they take out acrobatics q-q

1. There is a map available at almost all, if not all, times.
2. Clairvoyance.

There are indoor places where you can get stuck.
There are also dungeons that can glitch out, leaving you no way to exit them.

Used to be we had teleportation spells for that reason, but for some unfathomable reason magic in Skyrim is a joke.
So yes, I am for this.
