Hi all, so I haven't really returned to the Helgen area for any reason until waaaay later in the game (around level 40) and I can't remember at all where it is that you emerge from after escaping Helgen through the cave. I can get back to Helgen fine, obviously, but can not remember for the life of me where you emerge from that cave after escaping.

Reason I want to know is that I want some Thalmor clothes, without having to kill a Thalmor to get them, and UESP says there's a full set at a shrine to Talos close by where you escape. But I can't figure out where it is.

No, I'm not going to go kill a Thalmor, yes, I've already completed the Diplomatic Immunity quest, and the rest of the MQ for that matter. Anyone have any tips as to where this shrine of Talos is? Nearby any significant landmarks or something?

Go to Riverwood and follow the road South?

Always kill a thalmor.

The cave enterance is south of the city. Just go north from Riverwood & you'll walk right into it but remember, there were several cave ins so you can't get all the way into the city that way.

Actually, if you wait a few game days, bandits take over Helgen, the keep and the tunnels, and the blockage gets cleared.

OP, if you travel back to Helgen and look at the local map, you'll see the cave opening. It's almost directly north of Helgen Keep.
