Escaping the blast in "There stands the grass" : Fallout: New Vegas

Okay, the guidebook makes it sound like you can cook off the gas and then close off a door and escape getting cooked. But you can't. I get incinerated every time and die. Is there a specific room I can duck in after lobbing the grenade?

I don't know the answer myself. So I just loaded up a previous save (for some reason she locks you up into the vault after accepting the mini-quest) and I completed it without her. Upon further research she doesn't really give you anything.

Atomic cocktail will add +53 fire resistance. should allow you to survive the blast.

I tossed a Long-Fuse Dynamite (or whatever it's called) then hightailed it to an area where there's no gas. ED-E and Veronica got knocked down, but they got up again.

yaa just go into the room you downloaded the data from and toss a time bomb in the hall and shut the door, and you will be fine.

Ye,a toss some dynamite (grenade works too), turn and run... there is a room right behind the spot you throw the explosive, run in and shut the door real quick.

Invest in C4 and detonater. Plant charge, go into room and close door behind you, (drink an atomic cocktail if it'll make you feel better) and "click".

BOOM!!

There's a blockade of desks and chairs right next to the vents. If you go to the other side of the blockade, you can toss a grenade through the opening and you should have more than enough time to run to safety.

When I did it I went down the hall from the leak into the door and launched a grenade with the Thump Thump. Took a try or two to get it right but I didn't have any 'nades on me that time. Now I keep some C4 and detonator on EDE in case. The grenade rifle was on my first playthrough.

I only had grensdes on me from leatherface, and I just went to the far end of the hell and threw the grenade all the way down to the end and immediately ran back into the cave system. Didn't get hurt at all.

Stand in the doorway, throw a grendade then instsanlty close the door. It may take you a couple times though, so save!

The computer room seems to be safe, tried other places but always died. Fired one lasershot out into the corridor from the terminal and the explosion didn't hit me once.

In the overseer room is a terminal that unlocks all the doors, no hacking required.

Yeah when I did this mission I had a hard time figuring out how not to die. I tired a flamer from a few different spots but that never worked. As I was about to give up I realized that I had a laser pistol on me, I went into the computer room and went to the left side of the door and fired. The gas exploded and I was perfectly safe, didn't even have to close the door.

I threw a grenade from the room with the computer from which you download the farming data, then quickly closed the door.

At first, I kept running to the room all the way at the end of the hall thinking it would be safer further away and I kept turning into the Burning Woman.

The room is closer to the vents where I had my companions waiting. I used C4 and the Detonator.

i had fun with this one. you can actually make it all the way back to the elevator if you throw a long fuse over the pile of rubble in the adjacent hallway and hightail it out of there! :celebration:
