I understand that there are some people who seem to be quite upset by the announcement of the console version of ESO. However, I do not think that this completely ruins the experience for us PC gamers. I understand that the game has been pushed back to Spring 2014, but that is okay, more time for improvement. Also, next gen is quite powerful, meaning that this game will still have quite good graphics, and us PC gamers will still have the better version, as we often do.
Now this does mean that the game will be not as powerful as it could be, but this could help our cause. This game going to consoles means there is a better chance of buy to play instead of pay to play, because the people on consoles already pay for either PS+ (now a requirement for online play) or XBL Gold. The subscriptions they already play will probably be taken into account by Zenimax, and will therefore mean that they may consider, from a business standpoint, opting out of subscription play, and therefore they will sell more copies.
Buy to play worked for Guild Wars 2, and that game is updated frequently. Lets hope that Zenimax goes for this too. Post your thoughts please!
