I think this is fantastic - harnessing a huge fan base while delivering a RvR/PvP/AvA system based on one of the most enjoyable systems i've ever had the pleasure of playing. It stands to create a long standing and highly enjoyable game, rich in story and lore while delivering a sustainable and long running end-game. DAoC had end game but never really any lore, story or PvE - its two birds with one stone in my book.
With the team already on the case building a 3-faction RvR system with Realm reward system there are a few things I would really like them to basically strip out and implement from DAoC:
- Realm Abilities - this system replaces the necessity of gear reliant PvP which effectively made WoW awful (along with the game not being built for PvP)
- Purge, MoC/MoP etc, IP, Charge and all that good stuff
- Face/Follow/Assist commands
- Elements of chain based combat strings - evade/block unlocks
- Guard/Protect abilities in RvR - assist your healers in battle and protect them
- Strong CC abilities and counters - PROPER Mez!
I'm also really excited about the possibility of Darkness Falls being remake inside the game, a PvP dungeon!
