Is ESO for you ?

Post » Fri Jun 07, 2013 6:55 pm

I like the elder scrolls series and in skyrim I've spent at this point 240hrs playing. But I have to ask when you gather all the info and interviews about ESO is this mmo really for you. We get carried away by the name " Elder Scrolls Online " but will it deliver what you what and need. As I read through the past interviews the talk about how you'll be to open container and find something making it sound as its the first time in mmo history you could open containers and loot items. And what's with Dark anchors which is almost a copy from the Rift book. And why do you have too get your soul back when every player in Elder Scrolls have lost there soul your not so special after all. Then having all trades mashed into a few categories and removing the chance to experience the trade line as it is as it is with class.

Is ESO for you I ask again sure most will say yes but you maybe caught up in the frenzy of the game series " Elder Scrolls" which is a much better game the ESO which is linear by ever account and boring after you've got your fill. You wanted change will ESO deliver?

I won't know the answer to that question until I actually play the game and find out for myself.

I suggest you hold off forming any major opinions of the game until you've actually had a chance to play it.

Reading this brings me a bit of nostalgia. "Why isn't Oblivion more like Morrowind?" "Why can't Skyrim be more like Morrowind?" "Why isn't ESO more like the single player games?"

Treat every Elder Scrolls game as the unique gaming experience that it is and you won't be disappointed that it doesn't live up to your expectations.

That said, I still remain hopeful that the next TES single player installment will bring back the magic of Morrowind. But, even if it does not, I will still play TES VI.

I'm under no illusion what type of mmo TESO is, with that in mind i will not be disappointed and enjoy the game for what it is. I'm an avid TES fan so their is no way i wouldn't try the game, the IP is the pull for me, not how the game necessarily works.

Well, to me TESO is pretty much the final chance I'll be giving MMORPG's.

If TESO fails to be the MMO for me I doubt I'll be even try other ones in a very long time.

When I first heard that Zenimax Online had started to make an MMO I was really hoping it to be a Fallout online but Elder Scrolls isn't bad option either.

Iam not entirely sure. But I do like MMORPGS as well as ESO. I have been severely disappointed in the MMO offerings from 2010 onwards. Since I quit WoW I've yet to find another MMO that has become my long term game world.

I feel a bit disheartened that there's no AH, only player trading. I couldn't stand other MMO's that did not have a AH and found alternatives like bazzars and trading a infuriating hassle and a horrible slow way of trying to sell.

The IP is draw for me, and I do like what the dev's are saying, but until I get in and play the game, I won't know for sure, but I am an easy going, kinda guy, not much of a nit picker, so unless the game has major techincal issues I think I'll be ok..:)

Is this the perfect MMO ever for me? No it is not the perfect MMO for me and I never expect there to ever be one. But there are many things that are attracting me to this game though. It is way to early to sahy whether or not this game is going to be good but so far I like what they are presenting me.

How would I know? It's certainly not the perfect MMO for me because I'm drawn to player-driven economies and politics. It's also not the perfect TES because I prefer single player. But in time I may learn to love it for what it is, just like I needed four years to learn to enjoy Oblivion. We'll see.
