ESO Lip-Sync and animations

Post » Mon Nov 25, 2013 11:58 pm

Hi all

I know allot of you have talked about the animations (Or lack there of). But knowing Bethesda, they have a track record of bad animations...for all ESO games, animations have never looked good ( yes they are better in Skyrim, but not 2013 quality ).

But my topic is more on the Lip-Sync.... i really hate that they have not used more time on this. Immersion is gone when looking at a npc talking to you, and he talks about great adventure and pain, but his mouth goes "mhe meh meh mhe meh meeeeh meh meh meh meh meeeh mmmeeh.

Have you guys not noticed this, or am i the only one hating this part ?

if so...i will go growl in the corner by my self ;-)

kind regards

Nick Ventura

I know they have bad lip-sync. I know they will probably not make it any better but I would like it if they opened the mouths up a bit more while talking. The NPCs barely move their mouths when speaking.

I don't think I've played an MMO that has done this well yet, some MMOs NPCs don't even move their lips.
P.s. This is not the beta forums :)

Bethesda isn't developing ESO. They only create TES single player games. The faults in the TES series has no relation to ESO whatsoever.

Yes thank you..i know that..it's just what we are used to with ESO games... Bethesda is still supporting Zenimax, so what i mean here is that they will not get any better with the help of Beth.

SWTOR is the only mmo game i know of with ok Lip sync

You mean TES games? There are no ESO games. This is the first one.

Beth has no influence over the animations. They mostly advise for the story and lore. They aren't in a "partnership".

We've seen gameplay vids officially released with NPC dialogue...

Anyway I'm really truly impressed that the whole damned thing is voice acted to begin with!

Maybe they'll improve animations but...

I'd rather they have good voice acting. I'm used to talking to muppets in video games anyway

Ok my apologies, with the amount of beta related threads popping up it's hard to tell :deal:

Yes I agree ZOS are doing a lot more than the standard MMO developer, nice to see so many voice acting and dialogue in the game, but at the same time it WAS kind of necessary as an Elder Scrolls game.

Also I really think they will improve both animations to be in more sync, plenty of beta time to go.
