Has ZES mentioned anything about a mobile phone/tablet app for ESO yet?

I bet they'll release one eventually. Everything is on mobile phones nowadays.

Don't really see the point for ESO. There won't be a global auction house, so maybe chatting with guild mates from your phone but otherwise I just don't see the need for it.

What would be the purpose of this app?

If they have a security key, then it will probably be on an app or maybe to check on characters, besides that though there is not really any reason for them to have one.

You won't be playing the game on an iPhone or Android. So, the only other purposes are Socializing, and they will have forums for that that you can reach from your phone (like these boards can be reached from a mobile device)

Yeah, not much you'd need to do. Maybe feeding your horse, I guess. That's about it.

Come on guys, you can be more inventive than this.

Security Key

Status of Cyrodiil (i.e. What faction controls what, what faction has most controlled territory, yanda yada yada)

Guild Chat

If your guild has a store front, status of it

Map with ability to place markers/notes

Any book you've discovered, a copy for you to read at your leisure

They have tons of potential in a mobile app.

Actually good points. Liking where youre going with it. To be able to keep tabs on what is happing in your campaign while not playing. And love the book reading idea.

I love this, using a tablet or phone as a second screen for the local map sounds great.

You win this time...

Yeah, that would probably be the extent of it though. You obviously won't be able to play the actual game through it.

It would be great to be able to craft through an app. That is provided you have the mats necessary.

One has to consider the purpose of said app what would its functions do ?
would it really gain extra attention ?

I can't see it to be honest

Yep. I know. I'm fairly confident though that, given LUA modding is allowed and that the code already exists in the client, it shouldn't take folks too long to develop a mod that brings it back. You will be able to use a mini-map in ESO.

Thanks man, I was just thinking of things to make a really good companion app. Something that would give you reason to open it and actually use it when away from your computer, unlike other MMO apps that never really get used except as a security key generator.

Oh wow, am I on the ESO forums? Did somebody just agree with another person about an idea they had!? AND THEY WERE POLITE! *GASP*

So does that make the score 1-0 then? Hahaha, yeah I think everybody just wants this to be a companion app. Something to look at/do small stuff when away from your computer.

Thanks, I was starting to get discouraged with the lack of imagination.

I was also thinking about an actual alarm for "Alarm Clock Raids" and "CTA" notifications. Storefront status would be helpful so you knew if you needed to log in and restock. Monitoring crafting channels for WTB/WTS requests. A way to view and share screenshots that you captured in-game might be interesting.

Maybe to look at your character and try different equipment combos and see how they would look. You know, fashion!!
