ESP files not loading

Post » Wed Jun 29, 2011 6:17 pm

Greetings all,
I am not able to load some ESP files in the GECK. I have the 1.3 version too. I need to see the cells in some custom mods but cannot get the esp to load. Does anyone know how to fix this? I have a Compaq Desktop running Windows 7.

Specifically what do you click to open the files? You must have the mod installed; then you use the file-open dialog of geck. You double click falloutnv.esm; then you double click your mod esp file; then usually you click "set as active file" to make changes in the mod. Once you do this, geck will run for a minute or two with the "not responding" hourglass cursor; then everything will be loaded. Which exact steps do you take, and what is the exact result?

I have this same problem, i have used the geck successfully in the past. But after my last reinstall it doesn't work. It loads but when i try to open a file nothing happens. I have fallout on steam.

It sounds like neither of you actually have the 1.3 update. The link on the website is broken, look through the threads here for the "1.3 update broke the geck!' thread. That has the correct link in it a few times.

Thanks guys, but I have the 1.3 update. I have used TCS in Oblivion for two years. I am not new to the GECK. However, I cannot figure out why the esp files will not load when set to active. Maybe it was due to NVSE not being updated. Would that affect it?

What exactly do you mean it won't load? Do you click Load, select some files, then click OK and nothing happens? Also, just to absolutely 100% varify, click on Help on the top toolbar, then About. Tell me what number it says at the top of that window that popped up.
