Do we ever see mr House in the flesh?

Post » Thu Dec 09, 2010 9:59 am

or is he always the computer screen?

also where/when does the NCR ranger vet armour start appearing? (ie the dude on the front cover of the game box)

anyway.. just finished the game.. .very impressed by how the MQ branches off into various scenarios.. I can see atleast 5-10 playthroughs always doing something different. I stuck with mr house for the most part, but even doing another mr house run there are many minor non-faction quests I can still do differently.. ie killing the boomers or doing jobs for them.

next run will be very hard/hardcoe where I'm gonna explore crafting. (totally ignored it thus far)

Yes, you get to see him in the "flesh" if you side with the other 3 factions.
The ranger veterans appear when you have advanced far enough in the main quest and are past a certain level. 20-22ish?
If you side with the NCR, you'll find a complete ranger vet set in their safehouse regardless of your level. Edit: You don't actually have to side with the NCR to get the safehouse, only get enough reputation with them. Goes with all the safehouses I believe ^^

If you go with the NCR, Legion or Yesman route in the MQ you do see him.. it's not very pretty tbh.

The Vet armour the rangers wearing it spawn after ypu perform some of the main quests after the strip..
Not sure which tbh, but my guess is a few quests after you deal with Benny and the chip.

You're right the minor factions are great it is fun exploring the different ways each one.

Good luck on the Hard / hardcoe game, I hope you have some fun.

Yup, I went the Legion route and had to kill him.

I'll just say it was disgusting ;)

LOL, love how the Prima Official Game Guide phrased it:
"At this point, you can: [...] which allows you to see the “real” Mr. House. He’s not quite as dapper as his monitor image may have led you to believe."

Thats gotta be the understatement of the year! ;)

I was playing Mr. House but decided at the last minute to go with the machine angle since House living forever seemed to perverted/greedy. Thought it was time to give AI a chance since the human race has had so many chances and f'd them all up so many times throughout history. But of course it doesn't go that far in FNV. Anyway, Mr. House by his own request was taken out with a few 9mm shots. Yes Man's disposition was about perfect for the PC.

yeah I got to see House by reloading an earlier save... not very pretty at all.

Reminded me a lot of big boss from MGS4.

Not pretty at all, but weren't you paying attention to the overly long cutscenes of MGS4?
Spoiler
The man in the tank wasn't Big Boss, but Solidus.

That was poor Solidus......Big Boss tells you that at the very end when he stops you from committing suicide and fills in the gaps in what Ocelot told you before he died.

I actually couldn't. I told him I was going to and then I felt this surge of pity and just roasted him alive instead.
My truly evil girl hasn't even made it to the Strip yet, when she gets there she is going to disconnect him, makes me feel bad... :(
