Everyone saying PS3 users were paranoid...

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 1:54 am

It seems that before launch any PS3 player who expressed concern were "paranoid". Oh and lo' and behold the PS3 has a memory leak problem and the save file rocketing constantly. This causes a stuttering every few seconds and some people have some extreme lag. So in short no we weren't paranoid. It's funny how the Beth Dev claimed they had basically gotten round the ps3's architecture now, lol doesn't look like it. I love skyrim so much, it's simply amazing but I can't believe were back at square one with the lag and some ps3 players predicted this.

It occurs when your savefile is about 9-11mb + Guys this isn't an isolated incident go to the ps3 sub section forum. As soon as the savefile hits a certain size the game starts to break down. Loads of people are having this issue.

Btw eurogamer have made an article highlighting the issue about the lag and stuttering.(can't link I'm on my iPod.

Bugs I can deal with, constant stuttering and lag I can't.

Ok. So this is basically a glorified "i told you so!" kind of topic?

I'm glad your problems got acknowledged, but creating a specific thread about it just to claim you were right and the rest was wrong, is kind of cocky, don't you think? Next to that, it encourages fanboyism.

Fair enough I didn't mean it like that but it's really frustrating me at the moment.

I only lag a bit in Whiterun during the day when a ton of people are out. And even then it's just barely. Guess I got lucky with my copy.

My brother has the PS3 version and doesn't seem to be having any problems. We all knew the game would have some bugs at release; and in some isolated incidents they would be annoying, but noticing some bugs hardly warrants an "I told you so" on weeks of overreacting.

Oh no he has right to bring this up, the amount of trolling going on before the game released if you mentioned anything not directly praising the game was crippling.

I have yet to have any significant problems. I'm running on an old 80gb PS3.

During the intro, I had a 10 second freeze. After playing about two hours after that, I had to reset the console.

Since then (I've played around 18-22 hours so far) I have lagged only twice. Once in Whiterun, and once in the open field near Whiterun.

And I can count only a handful of graphical glitches and delayed reaction times.

It has to break in to the system. Try uninstalling and reinstall it.

I love how this has been mentioned 3 times in this thread now and was apparently ignored completely each time.

I'm a PS3 user who hasn't bought the game yet so I find these threads to be useful. I'm sure I'll end up buying the game soon anyway (once my town has copies again), but at least this way I'll have an idea of what I'm getting myself into.

It's my favourite game of all time I think and it ran so smooth until I hit 11mb save file and now it stutters constantly and lags. I've tried everything :(

... and other platforms has their own share of problems.

Nothing new here, still this is far from the "THEY'RE IGNORING THE PS3 COMPLETELY" thing people went on and on about before release...

Trust me, I know the feeling (I specifically made several threads about the issue up until release)... :glare:

I can't understand why it's the same consoles. Ps3 and Xbox 360. Back in my day, we had nintendo, genisis, super ninento, sony playstation (into games not just electronic sh!t), then n64, and sega dreamcast. and..... lately it's all the same. 5 years since the latest console? I don't understand this, 'cause it's only like 200 bucks to get the new one.

THis^

Also, how about trimming down your saves? I keep mine at a limit, and then overwrite them. If that doesn't help, go delete some and keep the file size down.

Deleting saves doesn't reduce the file size of any other saves.

At least you don't have the texture problems that plague the xbox or the occasional freezes resolved only with a hardboot.

We have some texture problems, although not as severe, but we're getting the freezes and so what if the 360 has a few more texture problems? They're at least acknowledging those texture problems, but they haven't said a word on the PS3's eventual unplayability. A few texture-streaming problems being addressed by Bethesda are preferable to unacknowledged constant stuttering and worsening framerates with freezes resolved only with hardboots. Who said we're not getting freezes?

Don't blame Bethesda, blame Sony for making a convoluted piece of hardware that requires more special attention than the other two platforms combined.
