So is it everything Beth claimed and more?

Post » Fri May 11, 2012 7:01 am

Yeah I have the game and I am loving it, so why would I need to ask people here when the game is my own answer? Well just because of certain things that Beth claimed that I haven't come across yet that I hope are still in the game, such as supposedly if you were to kill people in a town, people in other towns would eventually hear about it and talk about it or if you wore something belonging to someone you killed people would get suspicious towards you over that person's disappearance. Yes thoses were confirmed details too. Also do people fight over loot you drop? Just wondering if people here have experienced anything I mentioned above. I started the game not too long ago so I'm not too far in.

Haven't seen any of that so I'm curious too. But I will say this game is everything they said and more......so far.

I dropped a sword in a Jarl's house and I was charged with endangering the public or something along those lines. It was amusing. Haven't encountered the rest of that, though people notice when you're sick/poisoned. I thought that your actions in one city had nothing to do with any other, or was that just your bounty and your relationship with the law?

Yeah I mean i don't know if it was a dropped idea or not but I would swear I heard that if you killed someone, and no one noticed, they would remark on that character's disappearance, and if you were wearing whatever they had would have an in-game effect. Maybe that's just something they had trouble implementing.

It's a great game in many respects, but Beth lied about a number of things. Well at least they're not as bad as Peter Molyneux.

I'm not sure I'd say its "everything Bethesda claimed, and more". If there's one thing I've learned in my time on this forum, its that people have CRAZY interpretations of "what Bethesda claimed".

That being said, Skyrim is as good a game as I've ever played.

Like...?

I've had comments made about people going missing after I've killed them. I haven't been putting on dead people's clothes though, so I don't know if that happens.

Thanks for the comments guys. I can't wait to really dig into this game! :D

Also I have the console version. Are the vanilla versions of the PC and console versions the same, or could the PC have some different in game AI? I know its a stupid question. Only curious though.

I got something that beats that.

I stole an item by accident and dropped it on the spot. Then come the owner and gave it back to me saying I dropped it :D

Wishful think friend. The PC version use the same user interface as xbox version have and to make matters worst, user interface is not optimized for PC.
Feel free to feel lucky about owning Skyrim on 360 friend.

There's no difference in game play. Only controls and texture quality will differ across platforms.

Ah ok thank you. Glad to know I'm not missing out on anything. :) The comments in this thread have reassured me that the Ai is still at least mostly, as it was advertised to be.

No its not even close. Well I am sure I will be saying this more then once. Gamers don't expect anything new anymore. I am playing a game that was launched before Skyrim and when it rains you show your wet, roll you start to get dust and so forth. Where are all the lighting effects, shadow effects, weather effects. You do know you paid $60 for a dx9 game yes? Its almost 2012 XBOX and PS3 are how old? And still they make a game for PS3/XBOX and then shove the rest on PC. We have Dx11 ... haha talking to a wall huh. Yes yes they worked very hard did a super great job for a PS3/XBOX game.

It was not worth $60. They did not do anything better its like playing Fallout/Oblivion with a new map and some extras tossed in. When you have to go to NEXUS to get a FIX for a GAME that just came out says it all. Its very very sad that reg people can make this game look beautiful and the dev's can't.

I was in the middle of nowhere and I dropped a sword and a guard walks up and gives me a warning for endangering the public. I also accidentely dropped a flower and picked it back up and this girl nearby say something like "ah man, I wanted that. your so lucky"
Haven't killed anyone yet though so idk.

It's not a crime to prefer to 360 over the PS3. I have a PS3 but I do like the 360 a little more and wanted the 360 version more. It doesn't even seem like there's any difference at all between the PS3 and 360 versions and you don't get penalized for choosing one console version over the other. It seems like you're trying to start a console fight on this thread which isn't what my thread is about. Stay on subject or leave. I don't feel bad for getting the 360 version at all and yes, I do love achievements.

^ See that pixel? That's how much I care (under about 10,000 x magnification) that its a "dx9" game.

It may come as a shock to some, but the measure of a game is not only how cutting edge its graphics are.

Have you seen Witcher 2? I bet you cant mod that level of graphic into Skyrim. UI is game breaking, unless you are a hardcoe TES fan. Nuff said.

What did they say about AI?
That it will be dumb? No, that is too much to ask for. None existing comes closer, I guess.

Seriously, I killed two giants while still being bellow level 10 by spamming arrows for a ledge of a hill. All they did is run from place A to place B each time I struck them.

The lights, wet effects and stuff had to be sacked. Because there is a limit of how much stuff you can squeeze within 512MB of ram and I also believe we are talking about SHARED ram. Seriously brother, did you see Witcher 2? That sh** is fu**ing amazing bro and was made for elusively for PC. No wonder CD Project have not made official move to xbox 360 yet. I know of fu**ng brilliant programmers, but none can make the impossible possible.

Im a thief. As I come upon small settlements at first they are friendly. By the time I get done plundering their houses they regard me as a suspicious sneak.

Remember what Todd said about it looking like it's on next-gen consoles? Yeah, that didn't really turn out to be the case.
