Everything is black.

So I decided it is time to play this game again and test out the new patch... I fire it up and I hear all the intro sounds but I have no video. It is not frozen up or anything, just black. It was running perfectly a while ago but since this new patch I get no video. Is there something I need to do now? I tried taking out my custom CFG files but that didn't work. My AMD CCC settings are set to application control on everything... I have the newest drivers for my Radeon HD 6870's. I am stumped. I also verified my game integrity and it was fine.

Did you remove lines from your Steam launch options then put +set com_safemode 1 in there?

Edit: you could leave +set com_skipIntroVideo 1 it shouldn't hurt anything to leave it, but remove
anything else and then add +set com_safemode 1 <=this can be removed after the game has been ran once.

That did it... but now I have a super choppy, laggy, mass amounts of pop in, crap game. Maybe I am forgetting what it took to run this game correctly. I have my CCC settings on default and a custom CFG. Do the CFG's conflict with the new patch?

Drop the custom cfg, safe mode it again, and then try it.

As Jimmy says, removed the custom cfg, run in safe mode once then remove the safe mode command.
I didn't tell you to remove the cfg before because in your 1st post you said you had already done so.
Game should run better without the custom cfg with the new patch.
