Everytime I play, my display setting s get reset : V

Everytime I start playing, TESV redetects and resets my video settings. It's annoying because I have to reset a bunch of things manually, both in the load up screen, and the in-game settings (view distances, etc) get reset. Anyone have a clue why this is happeneing? I have Steam in offline mode. My game rarely CTDs. I dunno what's going on. I haven't changed anything since the patch and that's when it started. Thanks!

I noticed the launcher started doing that for me. Workarounds:

Use SKSE
Use Skyrim 4GB Launcher

They'll prevent the launcher from running and resetting your INIs.

Sounds like a UAC problem.

Is steam installed to the "Program files" directory? Running Win7?

Google those if that is true...

My UAC is disabled, so I doubt it's (solely) a UAC problem.

One thing ... do you have Steam running BEFORE launching Skyrim?

This only happens to me if I do not have Steam running. If I launch Steam first, then launch Skyrim, it works fine.

Same. Steam is installed in c:\games

Although I do not wish my problems on others,at least I am not the only one. Thanks for the workaround!
