Exactly how many locations are there? : V

A simple question yet hard to answer. At least other forums I've looked no one had a solid answer.

Around 47 locations ago I thought I'd seen it all, every last bit. Well now I'm at 347. Do any of you know exactly how many there are?

It all depends on what you count as a location. Map Markers? Quest Locations? Locations of Interest? A hand sticking out of the pond with a sword is considered a location (no quest/no map marker/no reason for that hand other than it's cool)

There are 730 Location pages at the Wiki, each page discusses one location of interest. About half of them show up on your map as a marker.
