Experience progress bar on screen

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 6:03 am

I was wondering if anyone might be able to make a mod where the progress being made in a certain skill is actually shown on screen.

This is mostly to know if certain actions are actually helping to increase my skill level, and to also not have the need to go to the menu every time to see how much experience I have in each skill.

It does display sometimes. I think it's always in the lower right hand corner of the Forge screen at least. I am also confused as to whether, say, tanning increases my smithing skill or what.

The only thing I recall seeing so far was my progress to next level bar popped up and I got a little message saying a skill had increased (lockpicking, in this case). It was awful fast, and I really don't like the current UI set up as it makes it difficult to track that stuff down if you missed the message.

I haven't seen anything like the skill progression bar from Morrowind though, unless I've missed it. Like that (.......... 30/100..........) bubble thing that showed how many more times you needed to practice before the skill increased.

In lockpicking, forging, enchanting and alchemy at least, there's a bar in the lower right-hand corner of the screen that shows that skill's current level as well as increases as they happen. I don't know about anything else though :/

I was actually thinking more in the lines of a consistent bar in the top right corner of the screen.

I also thought about this: how about we are able to switch around the different experience bars? This could be accompanied with two hot keys that allow you to go back and forth the bars.
