My experiences post patch.

Okay, so I played the game for a few hours yesterday to test the new patch.

My character is level 29, 34 hours in, 6.6mb save. I rested for 30 days when I loaded my save as people on here seem to suggest.

1. Lag. This actually improved. With my latest character, the lag never became game breaking, but it started getting worse. What would happen is when walking through the wilderness, it would be silky smooth then stutter. It would stutter every few steps. Now, I can walk at a consistent speed. No stuttering except on occasion such as when new sections pop in, a definite improvement (so far...).

2. Sluggishness. I noticed that sometimes I feel like I'm walking slower. It is smooth, but it just feels slower, Maybe it is just me. It doesn't happen all the time.

3. Graphics. They look the same to me. Textures still don't load right on occasion, pop in is still jarring, repeating textures are still ugly in the distance. But really, it looks the same as it did before.

4. Quests. I admit, I have refrained from doing very many quests. Everything seems to work so far though. The only thing I noticed that may have been a glitch is the final boss in the last dungeon of the College of Winterhold quests didn't seem to attack me. Maybe it was just luck, but it seemed too easy. Other than that, no problems, but like I said, I've been holding off on quests for the most part.

5. Dragons. Simply put, they are still annoying. I might get 2 out of 4 to give me a soul, and sometimes they just fly away. I spent 5 minutes chasing one down and had to wait for him to attack some guards. I then hacked his tail while he was in the air to aggro him. I wish they would just attack me. I mean if I'm in the middle of an open field, and no one else is around, surely the dragon would at least try. I haven't had any dragons fly backwards or spaz out on me yet, and I've fought more than one kind.

6. Magic resistance. This seems wrong. I have 75 percent magic resistance, yet two mages just handed me my posterior. One was just a bandit marauder in a fort near Whiterun. The other was a master conjurer in another area. Either way, they killed me so fast with their shock spell, it was ridiculous. Normally, mages aren't a problem with this character due to the magic resistance. I couldn't get close to these two. I had to use stealth. Also, dragon breath now nearly kills me. I just bought the shield perk for blocking fire/shock/ice, and it doesn't work! I thought it would at least help, but no. Dragon breath still brings me down to near death. I used to be able to handle it better. I actually got so annoyed I bumped the difficulty down to novice just to kill the stupid dragon, and I have been playing on adept ever since I started. That really bothered me.

Okay, so overall things seem to be going okay except for a few issues. I still feel restricted when I play. I just don't want to break an important quest or something, so I still hold back a little. I'll post any updates if anything changes. I still love the game, but I would have loved it so much more without the bugs/lag issues.

My experience has been terrible. Before the patch I could play the game, I just made sure to manual save often and when the game started to lag I shut it down, restarted, and things were fine. Sure I had some quests glitch out but not many. AFTER the patch? Simply put it locks up. Yesterday it seemed like every time I waited in-game it would lock up within five minutes after the wait period. Today I haven't waited at all and it locked up twice in less than a half hour (once when I went into Breezehome, once during a load screen). Aside from that (and I'll probably get flamed for this) I haven't noticed a major difference. The graphics look slightly better and the lag seems to be somewhat reduced but that could be because I have to force restart my PS3. Also like many I have noticed some weapon change problems. So basically much of what was broken before is still broken and there is new stuff that is worse than before.

Wow, it really sounds like they messed up Magic Resistances. Everyone is talking about it.

I restarted with a fresh install and updates and found out that the treasure maps stopped working. I would read the map but the chests do not spawn.

- The textures (or pop-in I don't know it just looks worse for some reason) seem to have taken a turn for the worse.
- Dragons are messed up.
- Questlines stop working when you visit an area prior to starting the quest.
- Interactive objects in the houses fails each time.
- Can't marry a ton of people even though it should be possible. It's just one big sloppy mess. And it seems there is no end in sight.

and I really love the game too. A lot of dissapointments make it hard to enjoy the game still. I'm seriously thinking of selling my collectors ED and just getting a new game...it feels like I wasted my money...

I just tested my other character. This is one I've had since the game came out. At one point lag was very bad. I could barely even walk through Whiterun. I fixed the lag with temporary fixes, but it was never perfect.

Level 42, 75 hours, 9.3mb save.

It runs smoother now. There is still a stutter every now and then, but overall it seems much better. I only tested it long enough to run through a few different areas.

Anyway, I'm still hesitant about progressing. My character that I listed in my first post is a wizard slayer, so obviously without magic resistance it defeats the purpose. Also, killing dragons is annoying for this character with no way to defend against their breath attacks. I might keep playing, but I don't know.
