Explosives!

Post » Wed Aug 01, 2012 12:56 am

Hiiii, I'm here again, with another question.
Ok, here it is: in the gameplays we see diferent types of grenades, but what type of explosives we will have? Only grenades or you can buy temporized explosives or something?
Thank you.

There are also flammable whiskey bottles that light enemies on fire. As for other explosives I don't think we have much info on that.

To be honest, and I've said this many times before, people want variety because they think it offers depth and that's wrong. Apart from a mine, a grenade and a flammable whiskey bottle bomb what else could you add in order to offer more gameplay variety? Not much to be fairly honest. People were also asking if the pistol and the crossbow are the only ranged weapons (yes they are for those who are wondering). Why would you want more? Crossbow is silent, great for precise players and offers gameplay variety with it's different ammunition options and the gun is loud, more inaccurate but does a lot more damage.

I don't think there are a lot more explosive device choices but like I already pointed out I don't believe we need more. A game can offer a great deal of depth with a few things if executed perfectly and balanced properly. Let's hope Dishonored is one of those games.

In addition to the Molotov Cocktail (flaming whiskey bottle) that strife pointed out, there are also explosive crossbow bolts (I'm pretty sure), normal grenades, and sticky grenades.

It's good that grenades and stickies are different items. The sticky ones could have been just an upgrade to the grenades and that would have been kind of a problem (at least for me). The grenades can be held before thrown and that way you can time it to blow right in their faces. The stick needs to stick first and then after a few moments blows up.

sleeping gas would be cool. for me, something like a firecracker that makes sparks and loud bangs could be used to distract guards. that would be nice.

It's good that you can distract them with basically anything.
