Since yesterday, I've had this unusual (and quite extreme) chat delay.

For example, if I ask someone what is for sale, it would take about a minute for the list of stuff to come up for sale. Or if I ask my Lydia to trade stuff with me.

I heard that deleting the Skyrim preferences file would help, but it didn't help me in this case.

Any help would be appreciated.

Aye. Quite a few (like, 80).

Thing is, they are all updated and this issue has never happened....plus I don't have any mods that modify my inventory or vendors.

Just try disabling them all and see if it helps.

If it doesn't help, try going to the title screen, opening up the console and typing

"coc riverwoodsleepinggiantinn"

Save your game, then load that game. Talk to an NPC. Does the delay still happen?
