Extremely bright snow

It's just one of the things they got right. Snow blindness, look it up.

I know what snow blindness is, that doesn't mean it should be in the game. Blindness is real, too, but staring at the sun in game doesn't make you go blind. Claiming that this was done because of realism is silly, Skyrim is a fantasy RPG.

And there is NO way to change it until Bethesda or a community member changes it via a MOD or a patch.

No but staring at the sun makes the screen go brighter and don't be silly I wasn't saying that the PC should eventually get blind by watching the sun or whatever.

Also living in a place where we get 5 of feet of snow every year, I can say that going skiing in a bright day without sunglasses is not very fun. The blazing sun can give you a big headache and leave you eyes feeling like lava has been poured in them.

I don't know what to tell you. Looks like snow to me. Maybe you have digital vibrance turned up in your video card control panel? I don't know. However, http://skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=363 that might fix it for you. Install the dirty version.

Bloom is poorly configured in Skyrim.

Incidentally it looks fine in the PS3 version. Why can't it look fine in the PC version?

For me personally, it's the constant lighting changes that HDR horribly provides in darker areas of the game. It actually physically hurts my eyes the way the game tries to adjust the brightness to simulate pupil dilation which is something that your eyes are already doing in the first place! The game does it quite poorly; it's a very exaggerated effect. There definitely needs to be a way to either completely disable it or at least turn the effect down to make it more subtle. I was in the Debate Hall in Blackreach just now and had to take a break because the HDR effect is so bad there.
