Game price, sub and shop. Before you guys start your rant,, its just good there option to drop off sub, tough competitors are coming like Blizzard Titan and its huge thing if they can draw more people to the game when that happens etc. Also its not about the sub, theres 7-7mil WoW player who gladly pay sub fees.

What payment model will The Elder Scrolls Online use?
We will be announcing exact payment methods at a later date, but globally we will be supporting multiple payment options. Players must purchase The Elder Scrolls Online in order to play it. They will have unlimited access for the first 30 days following activation and can continue beyond that with a subscription of $14.99/month (€12.99 / £8.99).
Well then, Ill have to decide between ESO or Warlords of Draenor . I kinda like WoD.
Who seriously thinks a game like this is going to be free?
you would have been surprised, before the announcement, quite a few people wanted it F2P and said it would fail otherwise.
You see it with every major title coming out these days....makes you want to bang your head against a wall.
I guess some people thought this would be closer to just multiplayer Skyrim like GTA V online or something.
Not that it would be a bad thing....
I may be alone, but I think it would be real swell if you could co-op the single player elder scrolls games with a buddy or two.
But I suppose some people didn't realize this was going to be a fully realized MMO...
(OFF-TOPIC)
Is your avatar hat from Goorin Bros. hats?
I was one of the ones who wanted B2P actually, but if i am remembering correctly A LOT of people wanted F2P and there is a reason the subject was banned here on the forums besides asking what it was.
I love their hats, I'm working on my punch card to get a free hat, and am only 5 away
Yeah before I heard about the structure of the game as a whole my preference would have been for B2P and have it be instanced world for all involved. However I am very excited for Cyrodil combat, and will gladly shell out the clams for it.
Nahhh... I don't think that the shop will give any statistical advantage. I'd rather have some vanity items or services behind a pay wall rather than a time wall.
I understand that I'm not most players, but time is money, and if you make me spend a whole bunch of time on something unnecessary I'll just skip it. I'd rather pay for the bullsh*t and get on with the real game, than waste hours of my life grinding for that particular thing.
What that thing is, I don't know yet until they announce shop items...
But either way I'll play this game, even if the population drops off the map, and the Sub reduces the entire game to 300 players, you bet your ass I'll still pay my $15 a month to explore the PvE areas, because it's an elder scrolls game, and I don't care if I cant clash swords with others
I'm surprised Talaran didn't lock it when he had the chance.
every game when starts it gets refunded, if it is good then people stay and pay. I see no reason to get excited or discuss it.
I would not want a game of this caliber to be free to play.
The Free to Play model started out as a way to fight back, but now it has turned into the thing it was fighting against, except much much worse.
Now it appears there was wisdom in the Subscription model. Yes it charges a steady flow of money, but it remains a constant. They don't raise it or lower it in other words.
I appreciate that ESO is taking the same steps, and I think a sign of a real next gen MMO is one that charges a subscription model. It means they have enough teams of developers and so on to produce the content demanded from such a model.
To some, kicking a dead horse... to others... a friendly discussion. Not all of us dwell here you know, some of us just drop in and say a few things and then off we go to play video games, or spend time with our wives, or work or other things.
But always attempting to get back to video games at some point
Because OMG CONSPIRACY MODS SHUT DOWN ANY THING NEGATIVE etc., etc......
Payment threads with no new information never go well. People who were convinced they knew for absolutely certain what Zenimax was going to do show up to spread the gloom and doom prediction, although it varies from 6 months to a year as to how long it will take for the game to fail and go free to play. I wish they would leave the subject alone, at this point, and come back when their prophecy comes true; repeating the same dire dirge over and over just tends to irritate people who don't have the same outlook. The harbingers of doom can return in 6 months or a year to gloat. I doubt any of them would come back if they prove to be wrong, but hey, whatever, at this point.
This can close; since the orginial question has been answered.
