Face Gen Problems with Apachii Sky hair and such

Post » Mon Nov 19, 2012 7:23 pm

Hi everyone!

Say, I have looked at and followed along with several creating both anNPC and a Follower videos, but I am stymied on the following:

1.) CharacterGen Parts:

a.) For example, "how do I get "Apachii Sky Hair" to place into the Creation Kit's "Face Gen Parts?"

b.) Whenever I click "Ok" it does not save it –in orderto rework on it. Am I missing something?

The other thing that I am having trouble with is embedding my newly created character into say, "The Sleeping Giant Inn?"

Could someone please enlighten me on what it is that I am doing wrong. I would really appreciate it. Thank you so much.

Well, so far I have figured most of the above out --with the exception of getting Apachii Sky hair to embed into the Creation Kit. So, I am still in need of some help here. Thank you.

You'll need to check both Skyrim.esm and ApachiiHair.esm in the CK when you load it.
You may have to add bAllowMultipleMasterLoads=1 under [General] in SkyrimEditor.ini in your /Skyrim folder.

Thanks, I have it all figured out now ---sort of!?! I created my follower saved it to my DATA file and my character is where she is suppose to be--- with one exception. The makeup that I had put on her isn't there!?! In addition, when I tried using the NPC Editor to correct the missing makeup, it crashed the NPC Editor. Oddly, it works on all other companion mods, but mine. Go figure! Does anyone out there have any ideas or suggestions? And, how would I make my follower mod into a .esm file?

Where did the makeup come from that you put on her? If it's another mod, your mod needs to be dependent on it and it needs to be active in your load order.

They came from the Creation Kit itself. I am assuming you don't really get much with the CK. I suspect what you get is just lore friendly Insipidness. :-) Thank god for the NPC Editor.

No! Like a dummy I forgot to do that. Incidentally, do you know anything about saving a file when changing [DLC]Serana in CK? I noticed that when I tried to change her a little and then save to my Data folder {DLC]Serana is a ".TES" file?!? I wasn't sure that you could just save it as a .esp file --despite the error message that pops up?

The .tes file is a temp file created when there's a problem saving the .esp. What was the error message?
You could try just changing the extension back to .esp and see if it will load.
