[RELz] Facegen Exchanger

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 11:18 am

Due to many requests I've updated my Facegen Exchanger to (hopefully) work with New Vegas save files. You can download it from it Fallout3Nexus page http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4094. (If you have the previous version installed then uninstall it before installing this new version).

As with Fallout 3 it won't work it you use a preset for your face as the save file won't contain any face gen data, just a reference to what preset you are using.

If you have a save file that doesn't work then reply to this thread with a link to the save file and I'll have a look at it.

I case you are wondering I haven't actually worked out the save file format I just search for your character's name in the save file and the face gen data is either 2 bytes or 10 bytes beyond that. (I can however find and change the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. data :hubbahubba: ).

Lol. I was very eagerly awaiting the release of this mod for New Vegas, and to bide my time I kept modifying my current character's face to resemble my Fallout 3 character. Turns out my new character's face is better than my old one!

But anyways, thank you very much for releasing this!

So to explain this to those of us who have never used this before..

What does it do?

Does it take Facegen files from the freely downloadable Facegen utility and import the data into NV save files?

Does it also transfer faces from the old games?

Does it do both as I suspect? Just curious..

Im getting an issue trying to install the program.

It says it "could not open key" then closes without completing the install.

Im running Win 7 home premium 64bit.

NM, i fixed it using the following guide. http://ctrlf5.net/?p=152

you know, i thought i had finally finished having to root around in my registry myself... guess i was wrong.
