Faendal dies at home, and I get Inheritance! sadness

Post » Wed May 23, 2012 2:20 am

ok, so are you telling me that some of my potential followers are going to die if I don't take them along with me?

Courier approached me while I was about to enter Riverwood stating that Faendal had died and gave me some money and a "Letter of Inheritance". Wish he didn't have to die, but what did he die from? Did he die from a glitch lol?

I got inheritance once too and it was only like 30 gold.

Edit: Oh and the courier guy took 10 gold from it for taxes or something.

Riverwood may have been attacked by a dragon? I lost Sven that way (he wasn't a follower, but an option to be as I did the quest in his favor the first time), but I saw him die, at least.

Still sort of sad. His mother still talks about him as if he's alive, too, but she's old and crazy, I suppose.

Faendal wanders a bit more then most of Riverwood, so he could have gotten in an attack with enraged wildlife, too, if you're not seeing any dragon-corpse hanging around Riverwood. I've definitely seen him fending off wolf attacks before- higher levels, could be bears, and bears can be cruel in this game.

as far as i know, they arent supposed to die unless something happened to them. riverwood is one of those places thats very prone to dragon attack.

It's just part of the game, it is a real world experience i guess. I guess Beth is trying to make it seem that even if you aren't around, things are still going on in the towns/holds. I was with the Companions and Farkas died during the last quest for me and I inherited 250 coins

well I was level 15, didn't start the main quest yet so I doubt it could be a dragon. Also he was my first follower until I found Jenassa from Whiterun. The amount of gold I was suppose to receive was 300 but 30 gold was levied from the account by the Jarl, "as the lawfully and honurbly due tax" heh.
Suppose I should look around for his body or something that may have killed him. It just bugs me because his path he walks every morning is the lumber mill and chop wood then he chills at his house. I hope other followers won't be affected as well.
