I think this means my video card is bad but does anyone here know what exactly this means?

Can't tell you a thing without a full dxdiag in a spoiler tag.

I've looked this up on google and there's a lot of people with the same problem?

Doesn't mean squat. We can't tell you anything about the problem without that information.

How would one be able to find the information and provide it?

Start -> Run/Search bar -> dxdiag -> Enter -> Save all to file (it's a button somewhere) -> Open resulting file -> Ctrl-A -> Ctrl-C -> Click the Special BBCode button in the editor here in the post box, click Spoiler -> Click in the text-area that comes up -> Ctrl-V -> Ok -> Make sure it is enclosed like this:

Spoiler

I'm either horribly wrong or pretty much every video card after 2005 or 2006 or so had Shader Model 3 so you probably have something pretty ancient in there :)

Looking forward to your dxdiag :)

The changeover was in process during 2006. nVIDIA's Geforce 6nnn generation had the shader capabilities, but was quite inefficient working with them, as were the Geforce 7nnn cards. ATI's Xnn generation was split in half. The X600 and downward did not have Shader3, and the X700-upward did have the majority of shader3's features/functions.

Intel kept waiting until 2009 or 2010 with their video chips before adding the shaders.
