Failing to see the light through the trees!!!

I am writing this on the ideas that we PC gamers believe in.
We want to be able to mod and adjust to get the most out of our machines.
We spend thousands of dollars and feed the growing technology advancement
of our craft or hobby. We as PC gamers expect excellence when a new game
has been released, (especially one like the follow-up to Crysis and Warhead.)
We do not want some watered down port from an inferior system just to appease
the masses. We are not the masses we are PC gamers and sit far above what most
console gamers can comprehend. They sit behind there little consoles year in and year
out never having to change a thing. They take what ever they are feed from the
developers and that's it. If a game is not to our liking we can mod it and make it better.
We can add things to increase it's life in our libraries. We have dedicated servers that
we can control not some crappy matchmaking.....
Crytek showed us this amazing CryEngine 3 and it looks like it got lost in the translation.

I was at a friends house when he got this game yesterday and i watched him and his son
play it. He was on the PC (a very awesome pc built by Maingear) and his son played it on
an XBOX 360. They played it side by side.
Here's what I saw.
1. 360 is up and running the game in 2 mins.
Pc - my friends fights with the install and the codes don't work. After 3 hours he can
finally get in the game.
2. OOPs, where is the adjustments for the pc missing????
where is the support for 64 bit Missing?????
where is the DX 11 or even 10 for that matter Missing????????
Is this really Crysis??? or are our eyes playing tricks with us.
3. son on 360 is already on 3rd level. Pc just getting started. 4 hours later???
4. I watch as both now play through the first level side by side to see how they compare.
360 not bad, looks like it has best graphics on the xbox the I have seen.
PC aside from the little extra lighting and color saturations I see no differences what so ever....
5. We cry in disbelief that this game is from the dev team that brought us Crysis.....
6. Multiplayer---360 it's okay but nothing that hasn't been done before.
Pc - can't get into a match cause of stupid codes not working but then he gets it working.
What WTF no dedicated servers......Matchmaking on the PC oh no, what a shame.
The good. I like the layout of the levels I saw. It could be something special on the PC but
it probably won't at least for awhile....
The best. My new M17x did not come in yet so I did not buy this yet. I will buy it if some things
get fixed. Our I just get desperate when my laptop gets here soon.
TO SUM IT UP: both My friend and myself are very disappointed in how the pc version got translated.
They lost something in the translation somewhere.
Oh, and there so called game testers... They should be ashamed of themselves......

I know it's nothing new. But this is my voice letting the developers know that another
Crysis faithful is disappointed with the release of Crysis 2 with what I see is an under-
optimized game. The first game was brilliant but also under-optimized for most PC's
and now this in under-optimized for all Pc's.
There should not be this many problem's with a release that should have been tested
more than it was. They need to get real gamers in there to test these out before release.
If so this could have been avoided. I well be they have lost alot of dedicated fans for
this. If it is not fixed soon they also may lose me as a potential customer for their
next release....

Warhead had no 64 bit or sandbox editor at release, yet it was patched in. You need to wait. Stop saying "we PC gamers" as if you represent the whole community. You don't, because each PC gamer represents themselves. So shut up about that crap, I hate you idiots going "We PC gamers...." -_-"

hi guys, well i just a gamer for looking a bit to graphic quality. but i dont understand modding and dedicate server.
sure, u played the demo too, i think even crysis and warhead were minimum rival to the demo. im still waiting for my pre-order (europe/germany)
and cant say anything about the game. but its horrible about the complaints. i thought, crytek made a big advertisemant, that shouldnt be much problems. so my questions:

1. can u costumize the quality of graphic or just choose between gamer, advance, enthusiast and hardcoe (however the exacly description)?
2. what du u mean with adjustments of pc?
3. what was the exacty problem with the codes?
4. whats dedicated server?
5. where can i see that a game supports dx11? between 9 and 10 i saw it playing crysis on xp and vista.
6. howto make mods? what do i need? what have it for benefit?......?
7. can you confirm, that the game needs less hardare resources than crysis and cryss warhead, though it should have beter graphic quality?

I'm not even going to dignify your negativity towards my post with more negativity.
I speak only for myself, "we gamers" is just a phase, oh wait, "we pc gamers". No I
will not shut up about that crap cause that's what it is and it's called freedom of speech.
Oh wait, that's right I'm an idiot, I forgot but its okay for Crytek to advertise that the
game will be supporting DX11 then not even support DX10. WAIT for a patch??
Why should I have to wait for a patch when I paid $64.00 for a game that should
have cost no more that $50 and that's even pushing it. Most companies at least
live up to there promises and have much better quality control. You can go to any
forum right now and there are hundreds of people complaining about all the same
problems with this game. It should not happen, period. Yes, I am now playing the
game on my friends computer and yes it is fun, but just not as polished as a pc
release should be.

So here it is. Went and got the game for my kid today and came back and we installed it on the pc I built. Has Duo core 3.06 GHz 4 GBs RAM Nvidia GTX 460 Card. SO after install we get right into playing the game. He had zero issues with codes or starting the game. Go figure. His FPS is running around 65 on Very High but does drop on an occasion.
What I saw was very nice graphics. Good lighting and shadows and the colors are very nice. But the big thing is it is a blast to play. I was hard on the game before because of all the things I expected from it. It is not like the first Crysis and for me know thats okay because its about the gameplay. I feel it is much improved over the first game but not as mind blowing in the graphic area. So times I forget that playing these games should be more about the fun than some technical demonstration of how good it is. Nothing can be perfect all the time if ever for that matter. I'm 50 yrs old now and to me through all the games I have played (which I have played since the very 1st Atari came out) it's all about the fun. Yes, I love sweet, hot looking graphics but if it plays like crap what good is all the eye candy. Plus if it takes a super computer to run it stable it's not very good to me. I think now that Crysis wanted everyone to experience there game and that's okay by me. Yes, I am disappointed they left alot of stuff but not to much that I will not buy it. I don't even have my Alienware M17x yet but after seeing my sons play so well on his machine I went out and bought one for myself so I can enjoy it when my machine gets here.....I love PC gaming over console gaming for every reason but as long as I enjoy the game and it's fun to play that is in the end the most important part.
