Ive been stuck on this allll evening and it's driving me insane, I want the plot in falkreath but cannot become thane because I'm not being offered the black briar Mede quest, is there anyway I can trigger the mission and before you ask yes I have done the bandit leader mission. Can any one please help, thanks

I can't become Thane in Falk. because in my game this old Jarl is thane what am I suppose to do kill the old thane so I can become the new one????

You have to be thane to buy property? Talk to the steward. Houses aren't bought directly through the jarl.
