Falkreath Wilderness: Busy Neighborhood

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 1:01 am

Besides the vampire and dragon attacks at the build site ("Jenassa, cover me! I'm going to make some nails!"), I'v had some exciting times meeting the neighbors. There's the necromancer down the hill, the cave bear around the corner, wandering parties of Thalmor...

Best part was the drug dealer down the street. Scored some killer Sleeping Tree sap for my wife Ysolda as a housewarming gift!

Seriously, as the Wolf Pack may have been hoping, Lakeview Manor is surely a werewolf's playground.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that noticed this. During my first building process I had to thwart marauders and a frost dragon meanwhile the local necromancer was gearing up join in on the fun.

Lol. Well, I have had the pleasure of meeting a few of my neighbors. I went next door before building my house, and welcomed my friendly neighborhood giant with a few arrows. Thinking that outta solve any disruptions and noise complaints from him. So a few days later I was starting the process of building my new home, and a relative of my neighbor decided to pay me a visit. He told me he didn't appreciate how I welcomed his cousin. So we had our little tiff, and then I was left in peace for a short while. I had to leave to fetch more supplies and when I returned, I was greeted by the neighborhoods wolf pack. They demanded scraps, but since I didn't have any, they thought was a grand idea to use me as snack food. Apparently my new bought horse didn't much care for them. Because he made sure to chase them off. I haven't been up the hill to visit the other friendly giants yet, but I do hope that the grain mill owners across the field from my residence don't mind my being there. :)

Odd, I have been living and building Lakeview manor for a few weeks+ in game, and I have only seen 1 wolf pack, 1 giant and 1 dragon. I noticed there is a hunter and a fisherman to the southwest by the coast. Doesn't seem like that hostile of an area to me, but I keep reading other people's posts about how they are constantly under attack.

I am so glad the game decided to bug out and not allow me to buy the Falkreath plot. Apparently for a good reason. No real problems out in the swamps of Morthal.

I don't think houses have varying levels of potential for danger. People see the necromancer and bandit hideout and assume Falkreath is more dangerous than other places, I guess, even though the house in The Pale is right between two giant camps, and the Hjaalmarch house is near two draugr-infested tombs in a marsh filled with chauruses. I think fast-traveling increases the chances of a random spawn, so maybe the people who keep seeing this stuff are doing that. Personally, I'm getting about an even number of attacks at all my homes.

I get the occasional hired thugs, one giant, and the rogue mudcrab but that's about it.

I let my horse fight them off (except the giant) to level his unarmed skills up so when he levels up he can increase his stamina to run longer or his health to live past a few arrows.

I wish I could see his health bar... maybe use my new found carpentry skills to make him some sort of... horse armor...

Next patch should add "horse armor" in the smithing forge menu.

Makes me think maybe the game is bugged somehow. I fast travel all the time and don't have this problem. I've had 2 groups of bandit attacks and did find 2 dead mummified dragur corpses in my front yard? Other than that, no dragons, no giants, no mudcrabs. I did have one skeever invasion, but then I do store dead thrall corpses in the basemant...

I've reported the bandits for their anti social behaviour to the local authorities. Just ain't cricket when you're settling down with a nice cup of tea and this mob comes along and spoils it. I blame the parents tbh.
