Well, I could provide my savefiles if needed, i could find 3 of the savefiles: 1st is the one right before the save that started the crash; 2nd is the very first save on which i get the crash and 3rd is my most recent save on which i saved in front of a door that, if entered, causes the crash. Anyway yea, complaining is only annoying, we just gotta wait till they fix it in the best way possible. (Which means: Save my latest game pls ;-; )
In the while imma restart the game (on survival hellyeah) and check if it goes away

gstaff has been requesting save files so you can try to message him if you like, all the help is usefull.

and yeah, we're already waaay over the post limit (it's 200) so if there's just a page of complaining we might get locked hahaa

Some of us have a morbid curiosity about what the bug is, so if ur in comms with him, can you convince him to tell us what the problem "isn't".

Because I've tried disabling everything to the point where I'm just a dude floating around a white abyss... Which crashes.

I've already visited Cambridge Police Station, it's the nearest place I've visited....it's a a shame that bugs like these still shows up in 2015, we are the beta testers...anyway I think I'm not going to Monsignor for a while, the map is big and there's tons of quests and activities to do, hope they will patched very soon!

I've saved the last saves to an USB, this can help if I'll encounter the bug?

There's two theories, one is that when its patched you'll need to start a new save and another one where it'll just fix the problem which I personally think will happen but somebody has wrote a full post before saying it's unlikely.

If the first theory is right then it depends if that save has been effected by the bug, if it has then you'll have to restart or you'll have to go back a few saves to where it hasn't effect that save. If it just fixes the issue then you'll be fine.

Once again, I reaaaly doubt you'll suffer the crash and I think the patch will just fix the problem so there shouldn't be much to worry about, just enjoy the game bud

Should've posted this here, stupid me. did some old fashioned QA work on PC;

Not sure if this would help in hunting the issue down, but here goes. Some place names / half a questname mentioned, no more spoilers;

Left arcjet via lift(as per), got semper quest, stored stuff at drive-in, went back for more, cleaned out the place and when i left again(via lift) whenever i quicktraveled anywhere, or moved towards you know where, straight crash to desktop.

Now, this is nothing new, but what i did find out is this; if i fast-travelled to the aber-farm it crashed as usual, but if i walked towards it until it was loaded in(i used tfc to scout ahead to see where the gameworld had loaded, it goes blank when you're "out of bounds"), then i could fast travel to the farm without a crash. Though the game still crashes if i even walk towards camb, but could be a similar issue. So fast travelling anywhere that wasn't loaded in would crash, otherwise didn't.

All started, for me, after arcjet at around 35h in.

So i have a sneaking suspicion that this has to do with loading unloaded stuff in. Beth techs would know better, but could be from hitting some limit in the world, or some quest progression, or excess data stored.

That's about it, hope it helps, might try to QA this further even if i usually get paid for this

Otherwise, here's to a well earned break and hoping for a quick patch.

If I will need to restart all over again just because of this bug, then it's bye bye Fallout 4. I was ok with playing F3 or NV or Skyrim all over again, but here... I built cool settlements, found me some OP weapons, upgraded them, built relationships with companions, spent over 5 days game time on this game just because I was free from school. I don't wanna start all over again

I really doubt you'll have too so no reasons to skip to conlusions. Just thought I'd give a worst case scenerio from what I've heard.

Heh yeah, new to the forum as one might see. Also things i tried;

- Disbanding group.

- Refusing the semper.

- Waiting in a chair in bunker until morning.

- Disable/able radio.

- Disabel/able active quest.

Oh...that reminds me...brb, didn't try the old "wait 3 days for cell reset" thing.

Update; Nope. Sat outside for 3 days, same thing. Different save; Sat inside for 3 days + save/load trick, no help.

This also affected all my saves, old and new, so something messes up the whole system, not just the current situation.

Oh and...getting "naked" before fast-travel does nothing either. So much for my terminator timetravel theory.

Hello there, another new account with the same area CTD.

However my area is not the Cambridge-Monsignor many have experienced, although AFAIK it could grow, but its borders are Black Street Apparel, and Boston public library in the west, Trinity tower in the south, finally the eastern borthers are Hubris Comics and Charles View Anphiteatre. The north margin of the river seems to be the limit to the CTD area.

Coincidentally, and perhaps related, somewhere around this area an UFO crashed.

As for quest rescued Mr Valentine, unlocked the fort, completed hagen, no BoS, save the first one, or Railroad. I have grenaded the chem deal. Thanks to a judicious use of console commands I have retrieved the Silver Shadow costume.

Now, and until Bethesda fixes this can somebody point me how to progress with the "Emogene takes a lover" quest line, since both Emogene and the priest are in the affected area. And no amount of console commands seems to help.

Until there's a patch for it all i can think about it using the console command setstage to skip parts of the quest but you'll be skipping all the good parts I believe.

Yeah i'm not worried myself, issues like these do get fixed with time and my game will take me months to complete anyway. I can catch up on other stuff now.

I can even start a new game if so be(knock on wood) even with 30+ hours in, could be smart anyway now that i know how the game works. Just doing something while i wait

i inadvertently triggered the rocket's red glare quest and now my game is saved and stuck on an unavoidable collision course to the crash area. i'm weary of using the workaround for this quest because of the amount of unnatural events i am pushing through the game.

oh well guess it's my only option in order to continue playing my save. woohoo!

I'm stuck on the quest 'Unlikely Valentine'.

When I open the door to Park Street Station I CTD.

Sometimes I can't even get near it without it crashing. No error message.

Great thread, I'm almost relieved to hear that so many other people are experiencing this glitch. I was afraid it would be something unique to my save and unreproducible or in a different area. I've tried all the suggestions to fix the crash but am reluctant to try the workarounds - will probably wait until there's a bona fide fix to continue the questlines currently being halted by this bug (Boston After Dark, Emogene Takes a Lover, and Shadow of Steel).

However unlike others, I don't believe the trigger (at least in my case) was related to Valentine or

. I first experienced the glitch doing Boston After Dark, and had actually not met Valentine in the main story yet.

Was just looking at all the issues/posts and one thing did poke out; game time.

Could be that the game stores area data without purging it too much/efficiently, to save on loading it all in again etc. Then when entering a new/changed area this could hit a limit and since around 15-30 hours people have quite the extensive area...

Just a thought. Wouldn't ofcourse explain how it affects older saves, or even new games. Unless the game itself stores the data without purging it at all for smoother loading or some such.

The C.I.T area. There's a group of Brotherhood fighting a Deathclaw when I arrive there, so I'm thinking the bug was related to that.

Well, when i got there i never found any BoS unit around, imma test that anyway to see fi its actually related to BoS

I haven't found the bug, but in case...when I talk to Preston, no dialogue option shows up...why? I've done the Minutemen quests, he's kind with me but I can't take him as a companion.....oh nevermind, I'm OT!

Yeah I don't think the Valentine thing is true either, some people a few pages back said they didnt do it but got the crash but because some gaming outlets reported on that so I kept it there. Sorry to hear you're having the issue btw dude

Most of the workarounds simply teleport to the location though or complete a specific objective if it's outside. The more complex ones will usually say they are. Personally I'm not using the workarounds though and just waiting but lots of people have and haven't had any issues, just make sure you save beforehand in case you type it in wrong

If you're talking about what some of the gaming news outlets are saying about a settlement quest being the trigger then it's not true. I think they misread what I said and took it to mean that the settlement quest triggered the crash which it doesn't, its just what quest I was on when I discovered the crash

Walkaround for Emogene Takes A Lover

Getting close to Charles View was always ending with a crash for me, no matter the path. So I found walkaround using console.

1.Progress with quest untill you get objective: "Find Emogene Cabot"

2.Open up Console ("~")

3.Enter following commands:

prid 00047EC4

moveto player

4.Emogene should teleport right behind you

5.Proceed with quest normally.

If I found a NPC ID for Valentine, could I spawn him in and just talk to him that way...?
