My fallout keeps crashing during the end video! I haven' had much trouble with the game crashing before, only if it gets minimized but i can't watch the end video, i've tried to Verify integrity of game cache but it didn't work.
Does anybody have a solution for this?

Install any new software that has it's own codecs lately?

Normally when video issues arise it's a codecs conflict.

Is Windows Media Player your default media player?

You for example, you have Nero installed. It places it's own codecs on the system for what it needs to do. It is also known to cause issues with the Gamebryo engine for some. Navigate to C:\Program Files (86x)>Common>Nero DSfilter I believe and delete the DSfilter folder. It will not effect Nero.

Actually this is the first thing I'd try. Make Windows Media Player the default player. I have a sneaking suspicion this will work, but I could be wrong.

Well, there is the http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=35868 utility but make sure you set a Restore Point or export the registry first! Then if it doesn't work it is easily un-doable. It will set Windows back to default codecs and will 'break' some of the programs that need specific codecs. If it works, you need to find out which codec it is. Install each 'broken' program 1 at a time then try and play until you can't. That will be the culprit.

I'll have to ponder some more for anything else to suggest. That is all that's coming to me at the moment.

Actually, you could just for the sake of trying reinstall DirectX and C++, though I doubt it will help. (I'm really leaning towards a codec/player issue still.)

I was having the same issue, the ending movie would crash every time, even if i loaded older save games.

running the DirectShow Filter _Codec_ Reset utility fixed the issue for me

Are any of you playing with a custom race by any chance? I had that also but I was using a custom race, there is a fix for that and it ran fine after I used the fix, could keep the custom race AND get the end with no crash.

I am having the same problem, the ending keeps crashing at the same point, 5 times now I get the message that "the program has stopped working" immediately after it tells you the info about the Great Kahns

YAY, I got thru the ending

I dont know if the changes I made helped or if it was just luck but I thought I'd share it

1st, I'm in no way a computer wiz and have no clue if these changes were the cause for the end movie playing in it's entirety. I went into my NVIDIA control panel and made these adjustments

Antialiasing Mode - Application Controlled
Power Management Mode - Prefer maximum performance
Triple buffering - on
Vertical Sync - Use 3D application setting

I also Turned the game's graphic settings to medium and dropped the resolution to the lowest setting

I had set a save to just before the end movie and have ran it 4 times now with no problems at all. Hope this helpful or can at least point in the right direction to figure out why people are having the problem
