Fallout: New Vegas CE didn't come with CD-Key

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 7:27 am

So after waiting receiving my Fallout: New Vegas Collector's Edition, I am unable to find the cd-key ANYWHERE in the box. I pre-ordered from best-buy and the box came completely sealed. Pictures can easily be provided.

Scan the receipt, scan the cd, and the box, then contact bethesda support.

The Cd key should be in the DVD case just below the disc.

Edit: Just wanted to add, my Fallout 3 CE came with no cd key in the dvd case too, so it's not impossible. I didn't have a key until I got the goty Edition.

As for the pre-order exclusive key, that was printed on a loose insert in my pre-order and clipped in place with the manual. If you didn't get that either, then you'll probably need to contact bethesda support since I doubt the stores stock the pre-order bundles anymore.

If you don't care about the pre-order exclusive bundle, then you can take your receipt and exchange it at your nearest best buy retail outlet.

Seen your picture, ya, it's missing. Should be a white sticker, non-permanent adhesive (I know it's removable 'cause it was sooo sloppily placed in my case, I had to 'fix it') measuring 3.25"x1", with the 5x5 keycode printed on it.

Chances are during production your case missed the sticker and QC didn't catch it.

If possible, I'd return it and get a replacement, calling it "defective".

Edit: Wasn't considering prebuy bundle (probably a matter of time 'til all 4 are available legit anyways). If not immediately important, return to Best Buy (exchange only what's necessary). If immediately important, contact Bethesda Support.

Like I said, just email bethesda. They had my replacement key within a few days (With the proper identification of course)

I also wanted the pre-order bonus but didn't see any key in the insert (maybe best-buy.ca didnt offer it?) so dang. I emailed bethesda tech support, was the only support page apparent to me.
