[RELz] Fallout 3 Starter

Post » Wed Aug 26, 2009 7:30 am

This little tray icon program will allow you to quickly start Fallout 3, Fallout 3 with FOSE, G.E.C.K, G.E.C.K with FOSE, the Fallout 3 Launcher and Fallout Mod Manager. As a modder I found this very useful as G.E.C.K crashes alot and mods always need testing & re-testing!

While Fallout 3 Starter is running pressing Shift+Alt+K will close Fallout 3, very usefull if Fallout 3 happens to freeze while in full screen mode, no more playing "guess where the button is in the black!" or resetting your computer.
Note: the hotkey combo will only work if Fallout 3 doesn't have focus so if Fallout 3 freezes and pressing the hotkey combo doesn't work press Ctrl+Alt+Delete then press the hotkey combo again.
Note: if you want to disable the hotkey combo simply create a shortcut to FO3Starter.exe and place -DisableFO3HotKey on the end, you can check the status of the hotkey in About.

Simply place FO3Starter.exe into your Fallout 3 folder and you're ready to use it!

Version History
v1.1.1 (17\12\2008)
-Removed the bit pointless "Start" from the names, eg. "Start Fallout 3".
-Added new feature, pressing Shirt+Alt+K will kill Fallout 3's process (Fallout3.exe).
v1.1.0 (17\12\2008)
-Added check so Fallout 3 Starter cannot be run if it does not detect Fallout3.exe.
-Menu items will now disappear instead of being greyed out if Fallout 3 Starter couldn't find them, G.E.C.K/FOSE ect.
-Added detection support for Fallout Mod Manager, it has to be located in a folder called FOMM in your Fallout 3 folder to be detected.
v1.0.0 (16\12\2008)

Nope, this is just quicker access to programs... what you could do is make a peice of armor that moves you to your cell using a OnEquip script.

Wow, that Shift+Alt+K feature alone gets my download, it is a massive pain in the ass to guess if I'm blindly rebooting my computer or opening up fifteen copies of the command line.

Uberkudos!

   (Yup, that's three thumbs up, Mutations rule!)

Was this previously known as "LittleBoy?"

the SHIFT+ALT+K alone is worth it.

now if only someone would make a small program with that key combo for Oblivion :P

What a minute.......Something smells like......*sniff*

Is this a necro thread?
