Fallout 3 was 6gbs large. Fallout: New Vegas was 4gbs large.

I just preordered it, and now I'm really tempted to cancel the preload and request a refund.

It took me sleep, alcohol, multiple coin flips with a decision to turn against chance and fate, and finding $50 in quarters in my desk to finally let me purchase the game. I am insanely and notoriously cheap and paranoid that Bethesda will rip me off.

So what's the problem?

The size doesn't mean the game will be good or bad so it's a little confusing as to why you'd be upset at this.

Probably still less of a rip-off than any other recent release.

Seriously, Bethesda is the least of of the big bad gaming industry evils.

You did not get the whole file. Mine is 6.75 GB. It may still need to download some more. Try resuming it.

Honestly, that's true up until you start wandering to Valve territory. It's kind of sad. I generally swim the indie games waters when searching for fun in games. Spelunky and Eversion are awesome.

Because Valve is the epitome of evil.

Seriously, it isn't 4 gigs. Either there is a problem or the download was stopped for some reason. I got almost 7 gigs like everyone else.

I was saying the exact opposite of that. Valve has a sort of bulletproof reputation among many PC gamers because they are generally a very sympathetic company in appearance and reputation. Staying a private company is a big part of that, admittedly. Gabe is seen as sort of a patron saint of PC gaming.

Oh, my bad. I thought you were saying that because of the Steam requirement Bethesda is getting worse. Makes total sense now :celebration:

So about 5 minutes ago I got a 4 MB update for NV. Caravan Pack, or are they adding files that weren't included in the original preload like some people say they do?

i understand you being worried about bethesda ripping you off(they did on FO 3) however, bethesda isn't making this game....the original makers of FO 1 & 2 are making this came...bethesda is the publisher.
