Falmer, their speats, and more

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 12:09 am

Falmer are ugly and scary looking corrupt elves with ice-blueish skin.
They have diverse Falmer weapons and armor that you can loot from them. They also carry gold.
They can throw ice spears at you, impaling your body, though these are one-time use (magic I assume) and they disappear after a while.
After you kill a Falmer, you can take its ear.

Edit: Oops I meant "spears" in the title; typed this very hurriedly, apologies.

I'm afraid all we can do is hope for that in the DLC.

Totally off-topic:

Horses are more useful in hostile situations:
they kick at things that attack you

I'm still hoping for uncorrupt Falmer that we can talk to.

They're not "corrupt," they're a race of elves that were nearly wiped out by the Nords. They fled underground and they hate and despise all outsiders, because the last ones they ran into committed genocide against them as retaliation for their bloody attempt to drive them out of the area.

They're not going to talk to you. You're an outsider. An interloper. You need to be exterminated.

Well despite the fact that Orcs are a Mer race, they owe their beast-like appearance to the defeat of their original God, Trinimac, who was subsequently turned into Malacath. His followers were also transformed into the present-day Orcs.

The Falmer encountered thus far don't look like most Mer races, instead they also look quite beast-like-- scarier than Orcs in my opinion. All elven races in Tamriel are decended from the Aldmer, so how did the Falmer end up looking the way they do?

The Skyrim Falmer look more like Rieklings, which theoretically might be a corrupt form of more intelligent, civilized Falmer/Snow elves.

They ended up the way they did by spending millennia underground and adapting to their environment. They didn't get "corrupted," they changed. There's no curse on them to be lifted or anything like that. They are what they are. And just because they look savage doesn't mean they're unintelligent. They just [censored] hate you.
