I'm excited, and I'm definitely in again. Came in 3rd last year, even after half my team had major injuries and half my team I picked up out of FA.

I might give it a shot this year.

EDIT: Ironically, I'm not going to play baseball this year. My sprained wrist is turning into a chronic injury. I'm a pitcher, I'm right-handed, and I sprained my right wrist.

Or I could just make this Thread Official for the time being. Though if Thadeus wants to make one so he can edit the first post that's fine by me.

I am definitely in, and very much looking forward to reclaiming the Tiber Septim Memorial Trophy.

If everyone returns and Suffca (who was interested at the end of last year) and Undead Fiend join, we'd have to go to 12 teams, but I wouldn't mind that.

Anyone have any suggestions on the league? I was pretty happy with how everything worked out last year category wise.

I'll join for the hell of it. I'll make a team once the site is back up. I'm thinking, Field Rams?

12 teams would be fine with me. I don't remember what catagories we used last year and I can't seem to find a way back to the league page from last year.

Anyone remember or have a link?

I'm very interested in this.

Do you have room for one more? And if so...how do I go about it? :)

ESPN is back up.

I've sent Thadeus, our beloved Commish, a PM. We'll probably start trying to contact the players from last year to see who is returning, so we have a better estimate of our numbers before we start adding teams.

So if you want to join, just make a post in this thread.

Anyone want to take a look at my roster in my keeper league and give advice on who to keep?

I can keep up to 5 players. I don't have to keep any. Each player I keep costs me a draft pick; if I keep 1 I lose my first round pick, if I keep 2 I lose my second ... if I keep all 5 I don't pick until the 6th round.

There will be 14-16 teams and is H2H 6x6: R, HR, RBI, SB, AVG, OPS, W, K, Saves, ERA, WHIP.

Roster:
Spoiler
C - J Mauer (Minn)
C - S Perez (KC)
1B - J Votto (Cin)
1B - E Hosmer (KC)
1B - J Morneau (Minn)
2B - I Kinsler (Tex)
2B - E Young (Col)
3B - P Sandoval (SF)
3B - M Moustakas (KC)
SS - A Ramirez (CWS)
OF - A McCutheon (Pitt)
OF - BJ Upton (TB)
OF - Ben Revere (Minn)

SP - B Morrow (Tor)
SP - R Dempster(ChC)
SP - W LeBlanc (SD)
SP - C Volstad (Fla)
SP - C Pavano (Minn)
SP - I Kennedy (Arz)
SP - J Shields (TB)
SP - A Simon (Balt)
RP - D Storen (Wash)
RP - S Santos (CWS)
RP - J Nathan (Minn)
RP - J Rauch (Tor)

I have an idea of who I am going to keep but I don't want to bias the discussion by telling you.

I am the defending champ in this league.

Thanks in advance for anyone that takes a look. :)

Hey, guys I'll be back for sure. I'm in the middle of a disupte with my ISP, that's why I'm late to the party. I'll have it resolved either tomorrow or Thursday, hopefully. All of my internet usage has been from my phone for the past month or so.

sbr32, to be honest, I don't really love your rosters top players. If you were going to keep anyone, I'd go with Votto, McCutchen, and Kinsler. I'm not really in love with any of those guys though. Basically, I think you could get about the same value back for all of those players.

For what it's worth, Votto is the only player that made any of the top ten scouting lists I've seen.

Ooh, Votto's Top Ten? That's better than I expected, but I haven't really started doing any homework yet.

Remember though, in a 14 team league I won't be getting any other top ten players in the draft, unless some existing teams are contracted and those players put into the pool. The league was 16 teams last year, and I am pretty sure we are going down to 14, but we may not. I obviously need to see how many teams there will be and which teams, if any, would be eliminated.

If I could end up with 2 Top 20 and 3-4 Top 30 I would be doing pretty good.

Like Rat said I'm not too big on what you have to use a draft pick on any of those guys except for Votto who is the only 1st rounder. I dont believe you even have a second rounder after him. If you have 14 teams do you have any idea what the others are keeping?

No not yet. There is a slim chance I may find out who is keeping who before the deadline, but not likely.

You don't think Kinsler is a Top 28 player?

I think Kinsler is a top 28 player when he's healthy. He's a 20-20 guy you draft as a 25-25 guy, and hope he stays healthy enough to go 30-30.

Yea, I didn't see this when first posted either. I'm in for another season. Hopefully this season I won't be complete and utter fodder for the big-boys again. In the past three years, I think I've gone from 6th, to 7th, to 8th place. :(

I'll do my best. I'm currently leading (and in very good shape) in my Fantasy Hockey league, so hopefully the Mead Drinkers can carry that momentum onto the diamond.

Nope, Red, we're still gathering people and waiting for pitchers and catchers to report.

Anyways, that brings us up to 9 guys. If I don't hear from the other three owners I'll send them a message this weekend.

^ Pretty much. When the Mavericks aren't on TV I'm usually watching MLB Network. Only part about it I don't like is Intentional Talk becaue I can't stand Kevin Millar.
