Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon.

Post » Sun May 05, 2013 5:43 pm

Any fans of Far Cry 3 playing it? So far I think it's better than the base game for the setting alone. Holy [censored]. If Far Cry can keep doing unique and/or retro games like this I am so in. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-3wXB-XjkQ. It's more of Far Cry 3, so if you didn't like that then your not going to like this, but by god.

A 15 dollar standalone game with AAA production qualities based on an existing 60 dollar title... We need more of that. Well done Ubisoft.

You can get a nice little discount on a digital copy of the game on Green Man Gaming: http://www.greenmangaming.com/s/nl/en/pc/games/shooter/far-cry-3-blood-dragon/

You can apply the GMG20-GGN5D-FC3NA coupon for an additional 20% discount.

It doesn't activate on Steam like many of GMG's games though, it's a standalone download.

Love the random throwing stars, hahaha. Game makes me feel badass. I think I will prefer to play this version over the base game.

Why does the player character place the shotgun over his arm rather than in his hand? Is that an Evil Dead reference?

I played it for an hour yesterday when it released. It's awesome. Only problems is that there is no crouch toggle and that you can't turn off motion blur.

It's open world too. That alone sells it for me over Vanilla Far Cry 3.

I'm wondering why I can't purchase it on GMG yet. Then I notice Europe gets it first. WTH?

IIRC Ubisoft is based in France, so I guess it makes sense.

Far Cry 3 was one of my favourite games of last year, and Blood Dragon looks awesome. Just pure silliness. I'm going to get this as soon as I've finished up a couple of other games I'm playing at the moment.

It looks to be Michael Biehn's best work in over a decade. Haven't played it yet.
Wasn't Far Cry 3 open world?

Yes, it was. But the amazing content of this game in addition to the fact of it being open world makes it that much more awesome.

I'm glad they are having fun with all of this. I don't say this often, but kudos to them.

I'm tempted to get this game, mostly based on the lulz of it all because of the crazy, 80's synth music and the story line. Think the "[censored] YOU" moment as the guy extends his middle finger in the trailer made me chuckle the most.

Played for about an hour tonight. The '80s B-movie atmosphere, dialog, and music are spot-on. So far it's looking like a spiritual successor to Duke 3D and Shadow Warrior.

"Mark IV style, mutha-[censored]a!"

Spider is great.

I swear they must have played Hard Reset and wanted to try a similar approach.

Yep. And also https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yRX12zkY9PI

I am loving this game for all of the stupidity and fun that it offers.

And I hope this will be a marketing success. 15$ for 8 hours of content. It seems fair and reasonable, compared to triple A 60$ titles with 6 hour campaign and a crappy multiplayer. If reusing assets becames the norm (to create games like blood dragon) I am totally fine with it. And please take my money.
