Farkas Follower Glitch

Post » Sun May 20, 2012 12:26 pm

I think I've glitched myself out of a platinum but need confirmation.

A while ago in my play-through I encountered a glitch with Farkas where he would keep talking to me while he followed me. I managed to fix this following a google search. However even after I told him to leave me he continued to follow me.

It didn't bother me at the time but now I have a problem. While chasing the Daedric artefacts I'm at the one now where I need to sacrifice someone. However, I can't get rid of farkas to make anyone else follow me so I can sacrifice them, the only dialogue option that comes up is the heavy armor training. And if I ask someone else to join they tell me I already have a follower....

So, is there a way I can get rid of farkas even though there's no option or am I doomed from getting completing this quest and getting the trophy?

You can always kill Farkas for your sacrifice. Kill two birds with one swing of the axe!! If you've finished the Companions quests then you don't really need him for anything anyway. If not, I think Vilkas gives most of the same radiant quests anyway. Check the game guide to be sure.

It doesn't give me the option to sacrifice him, that's the problem and he's impossible to kill. :(

Have you tried bringing him to Boathia's altar? You don't get an option to kill him.

You make Farkas follow you up there and then activate the shrine or whatever it is. Whoever you brought there gets svcked to the device and is surrounded by something that looks like a forcefield. Once he is stuck there you can slay him.

I heard if you kill the people that worship boethia at her shrine she will accept that as well.

When I activate the shrine nothing happens - I assume it's because the game doesn't think I have a follower?

After you make your sacrifice, you have to slay all the worshippers to finish the quest anyway. Of course this is assuming we're talking about the Boathia quest.

Ah it hasn't worked :(

I spoke to Boethiah's conduit but it hasn't given me the next objective in the quest. Still asking me to sacrifice....

That's possible. If your only getting the Heavy Armor training option then he's not a follower. You should be getting a few other options like trading equipment or telling him to wait etc. If you saved your game with this like that then you're stuck with it like that.

The Companions quest are the glitchiest quests in the game in my opinion. I got through them but had to really pay attention to what I was doing and making sure everything was right before saving again. It svcks but if you know what to look for it's not hard to avoid the glitches. I bought the game guide so I could read through a quest and make sure what was suppose to happen did happen.

You may have to start a new game. If you don't, there are other quests that require a specific follower that won't work if your stuck with Farkas.

Awesome!!! Didn't know it could be done that way. But you are still going to run into other troubles eventually if you're stuck with Farkas forever. (see my last post)
