[REQ] Farm to buy outside Whiterun, upgrade

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 8:13 pm

The multiple house setup inside of cities is pretty messy for someone like me that enjoys having a central location. So I was thinking, why not have a house & farm(custom planting) outside of Whiterun (middle of the map) that starts off like this:

And can be upgraded to become bigger, have a basemant, enchanting, smithing, and all that. As you make the house bigger, so does the farm. The cost of upgrading it would be significantly more than your current houses, since they'd all have to be built onto the house. You can purchase it from the same guy that sells you the Whiterun home, for something like $10,000. Upgrades are linear and cost a few thousand to start, for labor/distance or whatever and significantly improve your house. I suggest linear because the house would probablyhave to be built up in a set manner.

The Containers you start out with could move as you upgrade, so the items stay. ie Chest1 at the foot of your bed in the small shack will move to your bedroom when it's installed.

Since plants and such regrow in Skyrim, i was surprised this was not a feature already...Skyrim seems perfect for a farming simulator of sorts :P

Good idea. And perhaps give you some income too, from selling crops and having workers do your work for you.

This would work better if there was a fully functioning economy mod, but as it is, money is way too easy to come by and even the price I listed seems low.

e: Your suggestion reminds me of Dren's Plantation lol

For the farming: Have a barrel or a container of sorts on each row, and whatever plant you place there, is what will grow in that row. It only works for the top item in case someone puts more than one thing in there.

How awesome would it be to stop all food flow to Whiterun (How devious) and then charge higher prices for your crops....MUAHHAHAHAHAHAHA.

It got buried in the nothing here, but here's my first project. Similar to what you're looking for and I could add some crops and what not I think.
