I just got the option to buy my first house, but it cost 5000 gold. So my question is has anyone found a way to get money fast? So far I've only been looting and selling items...

Just kidding, if you want legit money looting/selling high quality armor is a good method. Dragons have a lot of valuables on them. And quests of course, they're everywhere and they pay well.
