[Req] Faster Conversation mod?

Post » Thu Nov 08, 2012 4:33 am

Sometimes some chats with NPCs are insufferably long and the time between being able to skip dialogue can really add up. There's an occasional glitch that occurs (but I don't know how to trigger) that makes the waiting period between dialogue skipping almost instant, but I need something more stable that imitates a similar effect. I need a mod.

Does a mod that exist that lets you skip dialogue a ton faster? I checked steam workshop and not having much luck, same with searching the skyrim nexus.

I just click my left mouse button and it skips the string of dialog that the npc is speaking and moves to the next string.

I just click my left mouse button and it skips the string of dialog that the npc is speaking and moves to the next string.

Is it instant though? Thats what I'm looking for, because right now it goes like this:

(This is just example conversation)
"Really? You don't know-"
*skip string*
"The temple of mara allow-"
*skip string*
"Of course, you can arr-"
*skip string*
"I can offer an amulet of mara if you're looking to get married."

The inability to instantly skip a string kinda wears on my nerves, especially in cases like getting more assignments from Vex and Delvin and waiting for them to practically finish what they're saying before you can get an assignment.

I was hoping to find a mod that imitates a glitch that allows me to do this:
"Really? Y-"
*skip*
"Th-"
*skip*
"Of-"
*skip*
"I can offer an amulet of mara if you're looking to get married."

There is a mod called "remove pauses between dialogue" that at least should cut off the time for NPC's to respond, though I haven't tested it much yet to know how well it does this.

Thats a start and I'll go check it out, thanks.

Thread still open if there's other similar mods.

This is how it works in the vanilla game for me. Perhaps there is a difference because my copy is installed on SSD?

Otherwise, I've also noticed in the past sometimes if you have a lot of mods with scripts installed, it can slow down the NPC dialogue a bit, could that be the issue you are experiencing?
