Fastidious glitch in Valve games

Since I switched to Windows 8 Release Preview, I encountered a very fastidious visual glitch in all Valve games, which makes models look in a strange way.

So... I came here hoping someone expert could basically detect what the problem is by taking a look at the screenshots below that document it.

Here's how the glitch looks like:

My specs:

Windows edition: Windows 8 Release Preview Build 8400
Processor: Intel? Core?2 Duo CPU E7300 @ 2.66GHz 2.66 GHz
Installed memory (RAM): 3.00 GB
System type: 32-bit Operating System
Display adapter: ATI Radeon HD 2400 PRO (Engineering Sample - WDDM v1.1)
Driver Version (Display Adapter): 8.97.10.0

Maybe the problem is that Windows 8 Release Preview is not the final version, so something doesn't work right as it could in the final one. Could be? I hope, because I'd like to switch to Windows 8 when it comes out, and fear that old games like Half-Life 2 or old graphics cards like mine could get in trouble.

Again, if someone can actually understand what the problem is by looking at the screens and specs, I'd be VERY greatful.

Thλnk you.

Driver issue / Source Engine issue, most likely. Basically NVIDIA hasn't made official drivers for Windows 8 yet, since it hasn't been released yet, or Valve hasn't updated their Source Engine to take advantage of Windows 8 code. Or it could be your videocard is slowly dying (that sort of glitch happened to mine just a week ago and I had to replace it).

http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2012/07/steams-newell-windows-8-catastrophe-driving-valve-to-embrace-linux/ that he inserted code in all Valve games to make it not work perfectly with Windows 8.

It's not a glitch, it's a feature.

Things to note:

1. You're using an unsupported beta OS, problems are to be expected

2. You're apparently using an engineering sample GPU, which generally is worse and unoptimized than the actual release of a GPU

3. your GPU isn't really meant for all that much gaming anyway.

Are you serious about the feature thing? Oh my...

Anyway, that glitch didn't show up when I was using Windows XP, and I had the same graphics card. And yeah, my PC is more an oven than an actual machine for gaming, but oh well.

My graphics card must be like... 5 years old or so.
